Online Payment of Road Tax
This service will enable the car owner to pay the road tax of commercial vehicle using net-banking facility with State Bank of India

How to Avail :
This facility is currently available only to the citizens whose commercial vehicles are registered at the District Transport Office, Shillong, East Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya.
In the URL mentioned below, select office name, fill in the vehicle registration number and the chassis number of the vehicle whose tax is to be paid and click on Get Details.
The required road tax to be paid will be displayed automatically for each class of vehicle as per the last tax date paid and as per the amount mentioned in the tax notification.
On submit, the user will then be guided to the State bank of India portal for online payment through net banking or debit card. After confirming the transaction an e-receipt will be generated by the State Bank of India as soon as the prescribed amount is debited from the user’s account. Copy of this receipt is to be printed for future reference.
Another similar e-receipt will again be generated by the Transport State Register Server against every Bank Reference Number and Transaction ID. Copy of this receipt is also to be printed and maintained as proof of tax payment.

** For Transport vehicle owner canpay tax in monthly, quarterly, half yearly or yearly mode.
Penalty will be imposed when the tax is paid after expiry of validity period.
Do I need to pay tax when I’m is not using my commercial vehicle on road?
If the Transport vehicle is not on Road / Not in Use, then Vehicle owner can apply for Tax Exemption of non use period through concerned Transport department, process varies from state to state.
