Application For Grant Or Renewal Of Leaner Licence :
documents which are required for learner licence :
** Form No. 1, 2, 3
** Three 3 copies of applicant recent passport size photograph

** Proof of residence
** Proof of Age
** Proof of citizenship
** In the case of an application for transport vehicle, the driving license held by the applicant.
** Appropriate Fee has specified in rule 32.
Note :-
All photo copies to be attested by Gazetted Officer or Notary Public
eligibility for obtaining a learner’s licence :
** Age eligibility : 18 years
** For vehicles upto 50CC engine capacity & without gear — 16 years(Provided parents/guardian consent obtained.)
** For commercial vehicle — 20 years & minimum qualification of 8th pass.
** Conversant with Traffic rules & regulations.
** Documents for residence.
The documents required along with the learner application form are as follows :
** Residence proof- attested copy of any of the following :
** Voter Identity Card
** Life Insurance Policy
** Passport
** Pay slip issued any office of the central government or a state government or local body.
The following documents are also accepted along with an affidavit sworn before a notary public or any competent magistrate :
** Water Bill – Delhi Jal Board
** Electricity Bill
**Telephone Bill (MTNL only)
** Pay slip accompanied by a PF Receipt (In case of private sector employees)
** Property Ownership like, Registry, Power of Attorney etc.
** Post office or bank Passbook indicating residential address
**House tax receipt
** Certificate from employer in case of Government Servant.
** Ration Card
** Application for learner licence with 3 recent pass port size photograph.
** Medical certificate on form 1-A it is required in case of commercial licences
** Learner licence form (Form No. 1-2-3) along with 3 photographs.
** Self declaration of Medical fitness on form 1 (Incase of Pvt. Vehicle)
** Remember to bring the originals of the documents whose attested copies are enclosed
prescribed fee for learner license :
** Rs.30/- for one category.
criteria/procedure adopted to issue Learner License :
After verification of your documents you will have to go through a learner test. Before learner test, color blindness inspection is carried out.The learner test is conducted for a period of 10 minutes and it has 10 multiple objective type questions. The minimum marks to qualify are 6. The learning licence is issued to the applicant who has passed this test. A question bank is provided on the website of the department to go through and learn before about the contents of learner’s test like Road signs, Traffic rules & regulations for the learners licence.
expected time for learner licence issuance :
The learner licence is issued to the applicant who has passed the learner examination. It is issued on the same date after 2-3 hours of completion of computerized test If the applicant does not quality the learner test, he is given chance after one-week time
