Tamil Nadu Free Grinder, Mixie & Fan Scheme :
His Excellency the Governor of Tamil Nadu in his address to the Legislative Assembly on 03.0.60211 announced that the Government will procure and distribute Electrci fans, Mixies and grinders to the women in the State and commence its distribution with effect from September 15th,2011 on the occasion of the celebration of Perarignar Anna’s birthday and that about 25 lakh families will be covered during 2011-12 and that about 1.83 crore women benefciaries belonging to families holding family card which are eligible for drawing rice will get this benefit and that all of them will be covered in a phased manner.

The Government in the Special Programme Implementation department is implementing the scheme vide G.O. Ms No. 2, dated 03.06.2011of that department and the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation has been entrusted with the task of procuring electric fans, mixies and grinders under this scheme following the procedure stipulated in the Tamil Nadu Transparency in Tenders Act, 1998 and Rules 2000.Accordingly, the TNCSC has finalised the rate contract and issued orders for the purchase of 25 lakh No.s of Fan, Mixie and Grinder and 34,000 pieces of Induction Stove with bowl instead of Fan supply in the districts of Nilgiris and Kodaikannal in Dindgul.
The Cost of each package is Rs. 4995/- (excluding VAT). The Purchase rate of each Fan, Mixie and Grinders are as follows :
Electric Table Fan Rs. 930 /- + VAT
Electric Mixie Rs. 1,165/- + VAT
Table Top Wet Grinder Rs. 2,900/- + VAT
All appliances are covered under a warranty of two years, during which period the Suppliers will undertake warranty maintenance at free of cost. The faulty appliances are to be replaced by a fresh one if the faults are reported within 30 days from the date of issue and if the faults are reported after 30 days of issue, they have to be repaired at the cost of the Supplier. the replacement of appliances / repair shall be at free of cost.
All appliances procured are having higher quality standard than those available in the market in respect of the following aspects.
Electric Table Fan :
The fans are procured as per the IS 555 standard. The power input is 61 Watt with B Class insulation provided in the copper wire winding. The base arm and motor cover are made up of virgin high impact strength Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS) plastic with minimum 2 mm thickness. Protective guard made up of mild steel wire is provided with a centre distrance not exceeding 10mm.
Domestic Electric Food Mixer :
The Jar is made up of AISI 202 SS with a thickness of not less than 26 gauge. The mixie is provided with 550 Watt motor and the blades provided can be used for both dry and wet grinding. The body of the mixie is made up of virgin ABS plastic of not less than 2.5 mm thickness. Heat resistant, durable, food grade, virgin, hgh impact strength polyproplylene of minimum 2.5 mm thickness is provided for handles and switch knob. It has ISI marked power cord and the mixies supplied are as per the quality norms of IS 4250. The jars are provided with lid made up of transparent poly carbonate which are not easily breakable.
Table Top Wet Grinder :
The 2 litre capacity Table Top Wet Grinder supplied is having a motor as per IS 996 with 150 Watts minimum power. It is capable of grinding rice, U. dhall within 30 minutes and has ISI market power cord. All the plastic parts are made of virgin ABS and AISI 202 SS is usd in metal parts with polycarbonate lids which are not easily breakable. The Grinders conform to safety provisions of IS 302.
