Volunteers

Agaram is a participative drive, where likeminded people come together to help an under-privileged child reach his / her full potential through education. If you are someone who wants to make a difference in the life of a child, you can do that by contributing your time for our various initiatives.

Agaram is an organisation that is completely run by volunteers. Volunteers are the pillars of strength for Agaram and they play a key role in every part of Agaram’s initiatives. Many of our projects would not be successful without their continuing support and contribution.

Agaram also provides individualistic attention to every student through the mentorship program, by connecting every student with a mentor, who is not a parent or a teacher but someone who believes in the importance of education and the student’s ability to achieve. You can become a Mentor, if you have the inclination and the time.

We do have an elaborate selection process to understand how you can partner with us, so that we mutually benefit from the engagement. Selected Volunteers and Mentors are then put through a training process, before they are deployed to support our various initiatives.

Donors :
The two successful key initiatives ofAgaram “Vidhai” and “Vazhikatigal” have benefitted hundreds of students in the rural parts of Tamilnadu, bringing about a significant change in their lives. Agaram is also planning to build a “Learning Center” to provide extensive training for the students.

With strong support from people like you, Agaram is hopeful that its efforts will snow-ball and many more children will benefit from its initiative in the coming years.

About Agaram Foundation :
Started on September 25, 2006, by well-known film actor Suriya, Agaram is the culmination of a strong belief that enlightening minds and empowering them is the only way for battling and eliminating social evils and uplifting the society. Agaram through its initiatives provides access not only for quality education, but also inculcates values, commitment and dedication to the society, thus helping to build a strong future for every child.

The seed for Agaram Foundation was first sown when a few like minded people came together to give shape to their dreams of transforming the society by equipping every child with education. The goal was to provide an opportunity for good quality education for deserving children in the rural areas and to create a platform to nurture their talents and provide them with opportunities to learn, develop and transform into a well-rounded individual.
