Mobile App For Women Safety:

‘Shakti’ is an initiative by Jharkhand Police for safety and security of women. This is an android based mobile application that will allow women to send a distress call to Police Control Room and their relatives/friends directly in case of any emergency.

First download and Install the application in your android mobile phone. Then, register with the App by sharing your name, mobile number and minimum of three relatives/friends.

Once registered, the user can send an alert by pressing the soft button ‘HELP’ on the home screen. As soon as the help button is pressed, it will be send an alert to the Police Control Room as well as their relatives/friends. Application and service are to be used only on distress. False reporting and misuse of any kind will be punishable under law.

How to use QR Code:
** To use QR codes conveniently you must have a smartphone equipped with a camera and a QR code reader/scanner application feature. The newer smartphones models available today often have an app pre-installed on them.

** If you don’t have an app pre-installed on your smartphone, you may download a QR code reader/scanner app from google playstore. Scan the QR code using QR code scanner to install Shakti app in your smartphone.

Women Safety :
1. Be positive, confident and stay alert.
2. Choose safe/well recognised place/mall for shopping. Avoid lonely places.
3. Keep distance with unknown people. Don’t try to make them friends. They can be criminals or kidnappers.

4. Don’t go to unknown places or stay there during night.
5. Always select the reputed beauty parlor. Make sure that it is safe and secure with your privacy.

6. Always carry your mobile phone, so that you can call police or family member when you are in trouble.
7. Do not share plans for your journey with your friends.
8. Choose a safe vehicle for journey.

9. Don’t open your identity on phone when your are travlling.
10. Select a reputed hotel for staying. Don’t go for hotels at deserted area.
11. Investigate the room before use.

12. Always close the door. Use safety latch also.
13. Use peephole before open the door. Don’t allow to enter unknown person.
14. Keep an eye on your surroundings.
