WB Nursing Council Renewal Procedure

** All categories of Registered Nurses under west Bengal Nursing Council are entitled to renew their Registration Certificate as per Bengal Nurses’ Act 1934.

** Renewal will be made every 5 years’ interval from the date of Registration.

** All Registered Nursing Personnel are allowed to renew their Registration Certificate. The Registered Nursing Personnel who are not in service will also renew their certificate from W.B.N.C. provided a declaration from the incumbent (through Affidavit by First Class Magistrate) showing the reason of non-employment should be submitted at the time of Renewal of Registration.

** If employed in any Government Sector, employer certificate is not necessary. If employed in Non-Government Sector he/she must have to submit current employer certificate on the day of Renewal and have to be present physically.

** On the day of Renewal of Registration all candidates have to be physically present/ if the authority will take responsibility by lot/bunch through their approved representative, no question will arise to be present personally.

** On attaining the age above “60” years candidates have to be physically present in the office of West Bengal Nursing Council before Renewal of Registration and may be permitted, if found otherwise suitable by producing Medical Fitness Certificate from Registered Medical Practitioner of any Government Sector.

** The Candidates, who are in Abroad may Renew their Registration Certificate if the rules and regulations of Abroad Verification of West Bengal Nursing Council fulfils and the registration will be Renewed after receiving proper and authentic letter from appointing authority in abroad for Renewal of Registration.

** In case of renewal Reciprocal Registration, candidates have to be produced required documents of Reciprocal Registration of other State. He/she may renew his/her Registration Certificate after full satisfaction of West Bengal Nursing Council.

** If any candidate, and employee of All India Services, he/she must produce his/her authenticate documents at the time of Renewal of Registration.

Registration Fee

** A Fee of Rs.400/-(Rupees Four hundred)only Should be submitted by Demand Draft/ Pay Order from State Bank of India in favour of “West Bengal Nursing Council” payable at Kolkata for Renewal of Registration.

Late Fee may be charged if he/she failed to renew his/her Registration within 3 months from the Date of Validity. After Completion of 3 months additional fees of Rs.50/= per 3 months by Demand Draft/ Pay Order from State Bank of India in favour of West Bengal Nursing Council will be charged.

** The West Bengal Nursing Council has every right to make modifications, additions or alterations in the rules and regulations of Renewal of Registration with Prior permission of the Council.

** The Yellow card issued at the time of Renewal of Registration should be kept in safe custody by the incumbent. The Council may issue duplicate Yellow card in case of loss/damage. Proper application with number of date of diary made with the Police Station followed by a fee of Rs.100/- should be submitted.

** Renewal of Registration may be considered by the authorized representative of the incumbent (i.e. receiving and returning to the representative) if the authorization is properly made.

** The Signature of the Representative should be attested by the candidate after that the authorization will be attested by the Superintendent/ Nursing Superintendent/ CMOH / BMOH / If found otherwise suitable by the Council.

** Receiving of renewal of Registration will be closed at 2 pm sharp.

* Original Nursing Registration Certificate
* Bank Demand Draft from State Bank of India
* Filled up Renewal Form
* Yellow card
* A Passport size photograph attested by any Gazetted Officer / Nursing Authority.

Functions of West Bengal Nursing Council

The West Bengal Nursing Council (WBNC) is a statutory body established under the West Bengal Nursing Council Act, 1949. The council is responsible for regulating the nursing profession in the state of West Bengal.
