Who is eligible for IDA Student membership?
Dental Students in the first, second, third, final year and interns are eligible for IDA membership.

Membership for Dental Students
He/she should be an undergraduate student, studying up to internship from a dental institution/college, recognised/approved by the Dental Council of India.
The application form should bear the Principal’s signature and the stamp of the institution.

Can I join the IDA directly?
Any dental student can join IDA at the local, state and national level.

Is membership automatic for new dental college graduates?
No. To make a smooth transition to active membership after graduating from a dental college, it is important to apply in the appropriate membership category.

What is the membership year?
The IDA membership year is active from 1st January to 31st December

I am relocating—does my membership move with me?
You will need to transfer your membership to your new location. Please inform your current local and state branches about your new address. Next, contact the local and state dental branch at your new location.

Transfer of membership from one branch to the another shall be done at the time of membership renewal, i.e., November/December and on production of proof of IDA membership in the previous year. But incase the subscription has been remitted to the respective local branch/state branch/defence branch/HO for current year, then the membership will only be transferred in the following year after a fresh application.

I let my membership lapse! What should I do?
Reinstating your membership is easy—just contact your state branch or local branch or the IDA head office directly.

Can I pay “back dues”?
No, you do not require to pay back dues. IDA bylaws allows you to join IDA by paying the admission fee to the Local branch or State branch or the IDA Head Office directly.
