A web based portal for easy access to information related to available opportunities to the youth provided by the government aimed to bring access to information on availability of all career oriented skill development programmes, employment generation programme, scholarship plans, stipends and grants available through different government schemes/programmes of various departments through a single node for optimum and maximum use of such information by the youth concerned. It would also go a long way towards reaching the benefits to the maximum within the target groups.
The target groups include students, unemployed youth and kanyasree beneficiaries.
It aims at
1. Providing easy and one point access to
a) all kind of educational assistance in form of scholarships/stipends for different categories of youth
b) Skill development/career oriented training programme
c) entrepreneurial assistance/bank linkages programmes
d) information database on job opportunities
2. Simplification of the process of registration in skill/career development training programme
3. Timely up gradation of information.
Database is available on the district website in the form of Dishari assistance portal linked with the website of all related departments. Information would be filtered according to the input of basic eligibility information as to age, category, sex, family income etc of the intending candidate(s)

Duties of the District Panchayat & Rural Development Officer :
District Panchayat and Rural Development Officer works under the control, supervision and direction of the District Magistrate and the primary nature of duties of the District Panchayat and Rural Development Officer are as follows
(a) Exercise a general supervision over administrative, financial and other functions of Panchayat Samitis and Gram Panchayats within the district and issue suitable directions incidental thereto.
(b) Act as a Nodal Officer for general Supervision and Monitoring of various National Social Assistance related Programme.
(c) Arrange for disbursement of fund to the 3-tier Panchayats with the approval of the District Magistrate as and when necessary.
About Us :
East Midnapore (or Purba Medinipur) is one of the 18 administrative districts of West Bengal with its headquarters located at Tamluk. The district was carved out of the erstwhile Medinipur district on January 1, 2002.
According to some scholars Tamluk derives its name from the Sanskrit word Tamra Lipta meaning “Full of Copper”. According to local folklore the name Tamralipta came from the King Tamradhwaja (which means The King with Copper Flag/symbol) of the Mayura-Dhwaja (Peacock) dynasty.
Probably this ancient king had a huge base of copper, and the metal brought prosperity to the region at his time. Thus both of the names — Tamralipta and Raja Tamradhawja — might have been originated from it.
