How shall I get my duplicate driving License? :
I. NECESSITY:
A person holding an effective DRIVING LICENSE issued by a valid licensing authority only is enabled to drive a motor vehicle in any public place. Such person is entitled to drive the vehicle belonging to the particular class of vehicle which is mentioned in his/her driving licence. In case of loss of such driving licence, the holder of the driving licence can apply for a duplicate driving license.
II. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS :
Some states may insist for the FIR registered at the nearest (jurisdictional) police station by mentioning the Name and Date of birth of the applicant.
a) Copy of the VALID DRIVING LICENSE, if any:
A copy of the Driving License which is issued by an authorized licensing authority which is effective as on the date of application for issue of duplicate driving license.
b) FEE DETAILS :
** Please refer to the link “How much fee to be paid” depicting the fee structure for various services from RTO, including addition of a class of vehicle to the existing Driving License available in Portal.
** However, there may be some additional fee viz., user charges/service charges etc., that may vary from State to State. To know more on these details, please follow the link “Get Fee Details of a State”.

III. WHERE TO APPLY FOR DUPLICATE DRIVING LICENCE? :
** Applicants can apply ONLINE for Duplicate Driving License by following the link “Updations to my Driving License”.
** Applicants can also take the print out of the duly filled-in ONLINE application along with the reference number and the same can be submitted at the chosen RTO office.
** Wherever the ONLINE transactions are not enabled, the applicants shall submit an application on plain paper/ Unified Form to the jurisdictional licensing authority, requesting for issue of the duplicate DL
