Online Payment Instruction:
** Students can pay their registration fee and other dues online.
** Visit IITG home page (iitg.ernet.in), click on IITG Online Payment.
** You will be directed to the E- payment portal of IIT Guwahati.
** Login using IITG webmail Id and password.
** After login, verify your details and ensure that the same is correct. In case of any discrepancy follow the instructions by clicking on the tab ‘CONTACT US’. If the details are correct, click the check box and click I Agree button.
** After conforming the details please select fee type and click next
** Please check the registration fee details and select mode of payment by clicking on the online radio button. In case the fee amount is not displayed correctly, follow instructions under the tab ‘CONTACT US’.
** Select mode of online payment by clicking the appropriate radio button: Credit Card , Debit Card (Visa, Master, Maestro) and Net Banking
** On clicking pay online button, you will be asked to confirm the amount. Select OK.
** After confirming of the amount, you will be directed to the payment gateway page. Follow the instructions as appearing on the screen.
** During entire payment processing do not click REFRESH or BACK button.
** After successful completion of the payment, you will return to the IITG E-payment portal.
** The details of payment will be displayed. You can take printout of the receipt by clicking “Print Receipt” button.
** You will also receive a mail regarding your payment.
** In case of any grievance related to the online payment, students may lodge their complaint by following instructions under the tab “CONTACT US” on the e-payment portal.

1. How to reach Guwahati?
Guwahati, which is the gateway for North East India, is well connected by air, rail and road with the rest of the country.
There are direct air services from/to Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata with connectivity to all major cities in the country and direct train services from/to all the metropolis and other major cities.
Air India, Jet Airways, Jetlite, Kingfisher, IndiGo, SpiceJet and GoAir operate regular flights to and from Guwahati.
2. What about hostel facilities for students?
The Institute provides hostel facilities to all its students. It has ten hostels for boys and two hostels for girls. The eleventh boys’ hostel will also be ready before the new academic session in 2017. There is also a hostel for married scholars.
Most of the hostel rooms are of single occupancy whereas one girls’ hostel has provision for double occupancy. The rooms are well-furnished and equipped with the Internet connection. Each hostel has a dining mess.
The hostels have other facilities like library and reading room, recreation room, sports and fitness facilities, food corners and stationery shops.
3. What accommodation is provided to the faculty members?
All faculty members are provided with first class quarters. Each two storied quarter has an ample number of rooms, two or more western type toilets, a garage, parking space and often a lawn/small garden in the front.
The quarters are situated in a convenient location. Telephone lines are provided to all the quarters. Internet access is available in the quarters.
4. What cell phone providers are there in Guwahati?
