Driving licence is issued by the Licensing Authority having jurisdiction in the area in which the applicant ordinarily resides or carries on business.

The following documents are required to apply for the renewal of a driving licence:
** application in Form 9.
** appropriate fee as specified in rule 32 of CMV Rules.
** three copies of the applicant’s recent passport size photograph.
the driving licence.
** self declaration about physical fitness in Form I (if the applicant is less than 50 years of age and the application is for a vehicle other than a transport vehicle). A medical certificate in Form 1A (if the applicant is more than 50 years of age or the application is for a transport vehicle).
If the application for renewal of a licence is submitted more than 30 days from the date of its expiry, the driving licence is renewed w.e.f. the dates of its renewal.
If the application for renewal is made more than 5 years after the driving licence has seized to be effective, the applicant is required to pass the test of competence again.
Renewal of certificate of registration :
Registration of a non transport (personal) vehicle is done for a period of 15 years and after completion of 15 years, every registered owner is required to get the certificate of registration renewed. The certificate of registration is renewed for a period of 5 years at a time.
An application by or on behalf of the owner of a motor vehicle, other than a transport vehicle, for the renewal of a certificate of registration, is required to be made to the registering authority in whose jurisdiction the vehicle is, in Form 25 not more than sixty days before the date of its expiry, accompanied by the appropriate fee as specified in rule 81 of CMV Rules.
** Documents required to be submitted:
Application in Form 25.
Registration certificate in original.
Attested copy of insurance certificate
Appropriate fee as specified in rule 81 of CMV Rules.
Pencil print of chassis number.
** On receipt of an application for renewal, the registering authority refers the vehicle to the concerned authority for obtaining a certificate of fitness and thereafter renews the certificate of registration.
Issue of duplicate certificate of registration :
If at any time, the certificate of registration is lost or destroyed the owner is required to report to the police station in the jurisdiction of which the loss or destruction has occurred and to intimate that fact in writing to the registering authority by which the certificate of registration was issued.
An application for the issue of a duplicate certificate of registration is required to be made to the last registering authority in Form 26 and should be accompanied by the appropriate fee as specified in rule 81 of CMV Rules.
Documents required to be submitted:
** Application on Form 26.
** Copy of complaint filed with the police.
** NOC/Consent of the financer, in case of hire purchase/lease/hypothecation.
** Appropriate fee as specified in rule 81 of CMV Rules

My LMV licence from Kerala expires on 18th December 2016, but on this day I am on tour and likely to be back only on 22nd December, so what can I do?
I have a heavy driving license issued by Maharashtra State Transport Authority. I have No Objection Certificate in Favor of Haryana State Transport Authority. Now I want to renew my driving license here. What should I do now to get renew license? Please info me soon as possible.
