It has been the constant endeavour of the Pharmacy Council of India to provide as much information as possible and maintain transparency about the functioning of the Council by uploading it on the Council’s website and updating it from time to time.
The minutes of Executive Committee and Central Council of Pharmacy Council of India and approval status of various pharmacy courses are posted on the website immediately. Visitors are also attended to during the visiting hours from 3.00 p.m to 5.30p.m on all working days.
It is noticed that at times visitors from far away places visit the Council at non-visiting hours without any prior appointment.
Although, all out efforts are made to meet with such visitors as early as possible but there are occasions when some visitors have to wait for long time due to non-availability of the concerned officer/records or exigencies of work in Council’s office.
In order to further improve and ensure smooth and transparent functioning of the Council, a software has been developed and made effective from…. for enabling a citizen to seek an appointment with the Registrar-cum-Secretary or an authorized officer.
For this purpose, any person seeking appointment on matters falling within the domain of the Pharmacy Council of India shall make a request for an appointment on the slot available for a specific day by visiting the website under the heading ‘‘Procedure for booking an appointment” and take out a printed appointment slip.
No signature will be required on the computer generated slip. It is, however, made clear that no TA/DA will be payable by the Council in respect of such journeys.
General public, the institutions etc are advised through this public notice to make use of these initiatives undertaken by the council to get information and or alleviate grievances, if any, and to avoid interference from any quarters not validly connected with the Council.

About Us :
The Pharmacy education and profession in India upto graduate level is regulated by the PCI, a statutory body governed by the provisions of the Pharmacy Act, 1948 passed by the Parliament.
** The Pharmacy Act 1948 was enacted on 4.3.48 with the following preamble- “An Act to regulate the profession of pharmacy. Whereas it is expedient to make better provision for the regulation of the profession and practice of pharmacy and for that purpose to constitute Pharmacy Councils”.
** The PCI was constituted on 9.8.49 under section 3 of the Pharmacy Act.
