Renewal of Registration :
Registration number is granted initially for two years. At the end of two years, manufacturers can renew their registration for another two years.

Manufacturers can apply for renewal as per following procedure:
** Click on submitted application on the dashboard. Then click on ?Request renewal?.
** Fill in the details for production report.
** Fill in the quantity marked with ?Self Declaration ?Conforming to IS…/Standard Mark.’
** Upload file(in PDF format) giving names and address of major distributors.
** Upload duly filled Form IX and fee details.
** Make payment.
** All foreign registered users having no liaison office or branch office located in India have to appoint Authorized Indian Representative(AIR) as per the guidelines issued by BIS in the prescribed nomination form.
** AIR of registered users located outside India have to submit an affidavit cum undertaking as per Format A/ Format B as mentioned in the guidelines.
** All registered users located in India have to submit an affidavit cum undertaking as per Format C as mentioned in the guidelines.
** Submit hard copy of application along with relevant documents within 15 days of online submission.
FAQ :
1. What is the Period for indicating Production details?
First Renewal:
From : Date of Grant of Registration
To : Three months before the current validity date
Subsequent Renewals:
From : Three months before the last validity date
To : Three months before the current validity date
2. If a Manufacturer has more than one Registration for the same product can he/she submit a single Renewal Application Form?
No. For each Registration Number, the Renewal Application has to be given separate with the production details for that particular Registration.
3. What is meant by ‘Name of Article’?
‘Name of Article’ means the name of the Product for which BIS has granted Registration to the Manufacturer.
4. What are the details to be given under ‘Quantity Marked’?
Total Quantity (in numbers) marked with BIS Registration Number for the reporting period for all Brands and all Models included in that Registration.
5. Who is the ‘Purchaser of the Article’?
Consignee to whom the Product is billed/sold by the manufacturer. Details of major consignees/distributors to whom the product has been despatched during the period may be given.
About Us :
Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) has notified “Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirement for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012” on 3 Oct 2012 for fifteen categories of electronics items.
Another 15 product categories were added by MeitY under this order on 13 Nov 2014. As per the Order, no person shall manufacture or store for sale, import, sell or distribute goods which do not conform to the Indian standard specified in the order.
