How To Apply For Factory Licence:
For registration of factories (Non hazardous):
1. Duly filled in Form NO.1 and Form No,2 of the Assam Factories Rules 1950 in triplicate.

2. A flow chart of the manufacturing process supplemented by a brief description of the process in the various stages.
3. Plans in duplicate drawn to scale showing:
(i) The site of the factory and immediate surroundings including adjacent buildings and other structures, roads, drains, etc.; and
(ii) The plan, elevation and necessary cross-section of the various buildings, indicating all relevant details relating to natural lighting, ventilation and means of escape in case of fire. The plan shall also clearly indicate the position of the plant and machinery, aisles and passage ways.
4. Permission from local authority such as Municipal Board/Town Committee or GaonPanchayat to set up the factory.
5. Prescribed fee for the licence through Treasury Challan.
For registration of factories involving hazardous process:
1. Duly filled in application to the Site Appraisal Committee with all required documents for clearance of site of the factory by the Committee(link)
2. Duly filled in Form NO.1 and Form No,2 of the Assam Factories Rules 1950 in triplicate.(link).
3. A flow chart of the manufacturing process supplemented by a brief description of the process in the various stages.
4. Plans in duplicate drawn to scale showing:

(b)Time for processing: 90 Days ( maximum)
(B) For Approval of Plan
(a) Due date for submission: Immediately after obtaining grant of permission for the Site from the Govt..
(b) Time for processing:- 45 Days (maximum).
(C) For Registration and licensing
(a) Due Date for submission: At least 15 (fifteen) days before the occupation or use any premises as a factory.
(b) Time for processing:- 45 Days (maximum).
