Traffic Sentinel Scheme
What is Traffic Sentinel Scheme?
** Traffic Sentinel scheme has been launched by Delhi Traffic Police for empowering general public to participate in better management of traffic on Delhi roads.

** In this scheme, any person can report traffic violation by capturing the photo/video of the defaulting vehicle and send it through Mobile App of Delhi Police.
** All such persons reporting violations will be rewarded suitably.
Who is Traffic Sentinel?
** Traffic Sentinel is a person who reports traffic violation committed on Delhi roads using Traffic Sentinel icon on One Touch Mobile App on Android platform or Traffic Mobile App on IOS platform.
** Predefined reward points for different violations will be credited in the account of Traffic Sentinel for each violation so reported.
** Traffic Sentinel will be rewarded suitably according to his/her accumulated reward points.
How one can become Traffic Sentinel?
** One needs to download Mobile App (Delhi Police … One Touch Away) from Google Play Store in any android phone.
** After installation of this Mobile App, one has to register by providing his name, mobile number and email ID.
** Thereafter on opening the Mobile App, one can click on ‘Traffic Sentinel’ icon and start reporting traffic violations.
What type of violations can be reported through this scheme and what are the credit points for different violations?
11 types of traffic violations as mentioned below can be reported through this scheme.

What all is required to report a violation?
The following information needs to be sent while reporting traffic violation:
1. Photo/video with clear view of Registration No. of the defaulting vehicle
2. Time & Date of violation
3. Place of violation
4. Type of violation
How can I see my reward points?
After each successful reported violation, an email will be sent by Delhi Traffic Police to the Traffic Sentinel on his/her registered e-mail account. The e-mail will display the reward point of present reported violation as well as cumulative reward points.
What kind of rewards are being given in this scheme.
Traffic Sentinel can redeem the accumulated reward points and will be given rewards like free mobile talk time, dinner coupon, movie tickets, gift vouchers etc.
Can I accumulate my reward points?
Yes, Traffic Sentinel can accumulate the reward points.
Can I report multiple violations?
** Yes, Traffic Sentinel can report multiple violations in a single reporting.
** For example, if the picture sent by Traffic Sentinel shows a person driving motor cycle without helmet and stopping beyond stopline, than it will be counted as two violations and each violation will have separate reward points.
** Also a Traffic Sentinel may send as many photos/videos for reporting different traffic violations as he/she wishes.
What is my reference ID?
Your registered Mobile Number is your unique reference ID.
What could be the reason for a reported violation for not getting the reward point?
If a picture or video of a reported violation does not clearly indicate the violation committed or the vehicle number is not clear then this reported violation will be discarded and will not get any reward point.
What is the responsibility of a Traffic Sentinel in legal aspect?
In case any violator challenges the violation recorded and reported by a Traffic Sentinel, the Hon’ble Court may require the Traffic Sentinel to testify before it for the violation so reported.
