Student Loan Application :
Government of NCT of Delhi, as a part of its 70 Action Points, has envisaged a Higher Education and Skill Development Guarantee Scheme for students who wish to pursue diploma or degree level courses or specified skill development courses in Delhi and have done their class X and class XII from Delhi.

For courses for which the qualifying examination is class X, students who have done class X from Delhi will be eligible under the scheme. Under the scheme, bank loans upto Rs.10 lakhs taken by the students will be provided guarantee through a Higher Education and Skill Development Credit Guarantee Fund to be created by the Government for providing guarantee to the banks in case of default.
Objective of the Scheme:
The Higher Education and Skill Development Guarantee Scheme outlined below aims at providing financial support from the banking system to meritorious students for pursuing higher education in Delhi. The main emphasis is that a meritorious student is provided with an opportunity to pursue higher education with the financial support from the banking system with reasonable and affordable terms and conditions.

What are the eligibility criteria for applying for Education Loan under this scheme?:
Students should have done their Class X and XII from Delhi. For courses for which qualifying exam is Class-X, students should have done Class X in Delhi. Students should have taken or qualified for admission in Govt. Institutions or private self financed Institutions located in Delhi having A or B grading of NAAC and NBA or SFRC grading of A+ or A. and whose fee is regulated by the Govt.
What are the documents required for obtaining Education Loan under this Scheme? :
** Aadhaar Card
** Pan Card*
** 10th certificate
** 12th Certificate, in case of qualifying examination 12th and higher.
** Employer’s Certificate- In case of the application is under Delhi Govt. Employees category.
** Photograph.
Note:
PAN No is not mandatory at the time of application/sanction of education loan however, students shall have to furnish details of PAN before release of second installment
Will a student who is a resident of delhi, passed either class 10th or 12th from outside Delhi, be eligible under this scheme?:
No. The students should have done his/her Class X and XII from Delhi.
Will a student, who has completed 10th & 12th from Delhi but is a resident citizen of another state be eligible under this scheme?:
Yes, subject to fulfillment of other conditions of the scheme.
What is the interest rate under this scheme?:
Maximum interest rate to be charged by the Bank is Base Rate (BR) plus 2%
Is there any guarantee/margin money required to be furnished to the bank?:
No collateral or margin money is required to be paid by the students under this scheme.
Whether all Universities/Institutions/Colleges of Delhi are covered under this scheme ?:
Only those Universities/Institutions which are located in Delhi and whose fee is regulated by the Govt. are covered under this scheme. The guarantee will be available for loans for courses of Government Institutions. It will also be available for private self financed Institutions located in Delhi having A or B grading of NAAC and NBA or SFRC grading of A+ or A.
