Shri Vajpayee Bankable Yojana :
A scheme for providing financial assistance to the craftsmen of Cottage Industries through Nationalised Banks, Co-operative banks, Public sector Banks or Private Banks.

Purpose : This scheme aims to supply self-employment to the unemployed persons in urban and rural areas. Disabled and blind persons are also eligible to take benefits under this scheme.
(2) Eligibility Criteria :
Age : 18 to 65 Years.
Qualification : The applicant should have passed minimum standard fourth
Training / Experience : Should have undergone training for minimum three months from private establishment or minimum one month from Government recognized Institutes, in the area of the proposed business or should have experience of minimum 1 year in the same activity or should be hereditary crafts person.
No Income criteria.
(3) Maximum Limit for Bank Loan :
₹.8.00 lakh for Industries sector.
₹.8.00 lakh for Service sector.
₹.8.00 lakh for Business sector.
(4) Rate of subsidy on loan amount :
Subsidy will be available as mentioned below for Industries, Service & Business sector.

Note : The maximum limit of subsidy per beneficiary in any sector will be ₹.1,25,000/- for blind or handicapped person
Handicraft Branch :
** Provide employment to rural artisans by implementing State Govt.’s Gramodyog vikas Kendra scheme.
** Implementation of various schemes through Handicraft Development Corporation.
** Implementation of rebate on sale scheme for Handicraft cooperative societies.
Handloom Branch :
** Implementation of Package scheme for Handloom weavers cooperative societies.
** Provide primary & advance training in Handloom weaving.
** Implementation of intensive Handloom Development scheme through Handicraft Corporation.
** Implementation of integrated Handloom Development centrally sponsored Scheme.
** Implementation of Handloom Reservation Act.1985.
** Implementation of scheme for development of products & its marketing.
** Implementation of Mahatma Gandhi Bunker Bimayojna/Health Insurance Scheme.
** Implementation of State Govt.’s scheme to provide Handloom, Mill Gate Price scheme,publicity and propaganda.
About Us :
Cottage and Rural Industries department activities were initially functioning through Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Gujarat state, Gandhinagar.
But due to extent of activities, separate setup was required for execution and hence Industries, Mines and Power department(Government of Gujarat) has established new department at state level by issuing resolution of sanctioning the post of “Directorate of Cottage and Industrial Cooperatives.”
Afterwards the post head of the department was sanctioned as “Commissionerate of Cottage and Rural Industries” by issuing resolution from Industries and Mines department.
