How to apply for National Scientist Award :
The Scientist award is given to the eminent personalities or Scientific Institution for their innovative contribution in the field of Science and Technology every year.

Another objective of this award is to promote the motive of scientific research in the country. 28th Feb has been designated as National Science Day and 11th May as Technology Day.
On both these occasions National Awards are given to outstanding scientists. This prestigious award is given every year and carries a decided cash prize along with a citation.
Eligibility :
** He/she must be a resident of India.
** In case of institution it must be of Indian origin.
** Individuals who are employed in the Departments of Science and Technology, Scientific and Industrial Research and Biotechnology are not eligible for these awards.
** The concerned personality/institution must have 5 years of contribution to any of the above mentioned field of Science.
** Entries received on earlier occasions for these awards will not be admissible without fresh accomplishment(s) relevant to the award.
** In case of National Award for Women’s Development through Application of Science & Technology, the individual/ institution should have a minimum of 10 years experience and outstanding contribution in researches, design development, adaptation or application of science and technology at the grass root level for women’s development.
** Individuals/ institutions that have received this award earlier are not eligible for consideration. Procedure to apply for scientist award For all National Award except National Award for Women’s Development through Application of Science & Technology
** Nomination form duly completed in all respects has to be sent to the following address on or before the date of submission of form. Head, Rashtriya Vigyan Ewam Prodyogiki Sanchar Parishad, Department of Science & Technology, Technology Bhawan, New Mehrauli Road, New Delhi-110016
** Direct applications or self-nominations will not be considered. Nominations will be accepted only in the specified format.
** Nomination forms, incomplete in anyway, unaccompanied by the requisite information or received after the last date will be summarily rejected.
** Please complete the “ABSTRACT SHEET” very carefully (It is suggested that this may be done after preparing the detailed basis for nomination).
** If more than one individual/institution is selected for an award, the amount of that award may be shared equally among them.
Procedure to apply for scientist award :
For National Award for Women’s Development through Application of Science & Technology
** Nominations typed on plain paper complete with enclosures in the format should be sent to reach Head, Science & Society Division, Department of Science & Technology, Technology Bhavan, New Mehrauli Road, New Delhi – 110 016
** The awardees will be expected to deliver a talk at a place and venue to be intimated by the Department of Science and Technology.( In case of National Award for Women’s Development through Application of Science & Technology).
** If more than one individual/institution is selected for an award, the amount of that award may be shared equally among them.
** Awardees shall be intimated by post and through selected newspaper announcements.
** Documents submitted can be returned after completion of the process including presentation ceremony of the award, if requested.
Necessary documents to be attached :
** All materials/scripts/toys/kits (only one set) may be submitted for consideration of the nomination. These are non-returnable.
** Attach the ‘Abstract Sheet’ along with the Nomination Form.(Not applicable to National Award for Women’s Development through Application of Science & Technology)
** Highest technical/professional/academic qualification certificates has to be attached.
