Traffic Police Mobile App :

Purpose :
This Mobile Application aims at increasing Public engagements and providing them with easy access to information about Traffic situation in Delhi.

The Vision is to enable Public to avail information about Traffic and to utilize E-services provided by Delhi Traffic Police. This Mobile Application is for Android Phone. Soon the Application for Window & Iphone will be launched.

Service Offered :
This Mobile Application provides Traffic related Alerts, Advisories, Fare Calculator with Mao for Auto Taxi, Pit Location, Emergency Calls and Complaints lodging facility for road users in delhi.

Application Register :
To use the Application, the user has to register his mobile number for the first time. Once registered, it will not show Register button and user can continue using the Application

Traffic Advisory :
This will allow the users to have Long Term and Short Term Advices from the Delhi Traffic Police. This can be like some specific route will be closed for some period due to some scheduled or planned activity like Republic Day Rehearsals or may be due to some other reasons.

Traffic Alerts :
This will allow the users to have Instant Alerts from the Traffic Police. This includes any un-planned events that causes the closing or blockages of Roads for some short durations. This may be due to some breakdown of vehicles or due to some water lodging etc.

Taxi/Auto Fare Calculator :
This Application provides the shortest route and approximate distance from the Origin point to the Destination and facilitates the commuter in calculation of approximate fare for auto-rickshaws, taxis and radio cab.

Taxi/Auto Route :
This will display the appropriate or shortest Route along with Traffic Congestion (if any) on the Map by pressing the Show Map Button.

Installing the Application :
This Mobile Application can be down loaded from Google Play Store. In search option write “Delhi Traffic Police”, which display the screen with Delhi Traffic Police Icon as shown in Picture. On taping on this option, it will ask to Install.

About Us :
Mobility with safety has to be the guiding principle for any Traffic manager. To achieve this, the Traffic unit needs to build its action plan on the four pillars of Education, Regulation, Enforcement and Road Engineering (ERER) – all well known facets of traffic management.

The mantra of ERER, however, needs to become a vision shared by all traffic personnel so that they do not remain moribund and freely contribute newer ideas to enhance mobility with safety.
