Blocking of Debit Card

Debit Card holders can block / hotlist their Debit Card by sending SMS to 9243755121 from card holder’s registered mobile number by referring Account Number or Debit Card Number as per the format given below :

A. SMS Format for HOTLISTING using Account No
HOT <15 Digit Account No>

B. SMS Format for HOTLISTING using CARD No

C. SMS Format , if multiple cards are linked to a single account
HOT <15 Digit Account No>

Bank will respond as below :
** Multiple cards ending with – linked to your account. To hotlist, send message as HOT <last 4 digit of card no>
** Re send SMS HOT <Last Four Digit of Card No> e.g. HOT 0162

The card will be hot-listed at the switch immediately and confirmation will be sent to the cardholder. If no reply is received in 5 minutes, the cardholder has to call our 24 x 7 Customer Care Centre to get the card hot-listed

FAQs :
1. If the card is not received, how to follow up with Debit Card Cell?
Debit card portal by ISG has provided access to all the branches .The status of debitcards can be seen in this portal.

2. Customer reports that card is not accepted, what the branch has to do?
Check the receipt printed by the ATM available with the customer. Verify the response code. If the response code is 050 (Unauthorized usage), card is not activated. Activate the card from CBS menu(by branch) .

If the code is 053 (Invalid PIN), customer is using the wrong PIN. If he/she makes 3 attempts with wrong PIN, card gets blocked for that day. If the code is 056 (Ineligible a/c), customer is trying with wrong account type (CA instead of SB and vice versa).

If the message is ‘Sorry, unable to process’, then probably there is network related problem. Customer has to either wait or go to any of our other nearest ATM/or other bank’s ATM.For response code description see in Annexure 1.

3. If the card is used in our EDC machine, is there any charges?
No

4. What is to be done while closing the account where Debit Card is issued?
Send an INET message to Debit Card Cell informing the account number/card number to cancel the card.If the card is closed within one year from the date of activation Rs 100+Service tax should be collected and transferred to IOA 9020.

More than one year no charges should be collected. Immediately,it should be informed to Debit Card Customer Care Centre through INET message or by calling our Toll free no: 1800 425 9992, 1800 425 5885, 1800 425 4066 for hotlisting the card.
