VIRAT App :
VIRAT (Virtual Application Tracker), a citizen centric mobile application for e-Governance is a generic hybrid cross platform mobile application with single code base using Apache Cordova.

It is a single mobile application which can be used for various types of status retrieval. It is run time platform which uses declarative approach for data capture and result rendering.
Any e-Governance application can use VIRAT by using declarative formats for interaction defined by VIRAT.
It is simple and loosely coupled application developed with generic features/ interfaces interacting with various eGovernance applications. It uses Open API for interaction with servers/services and uses standards complaint JSON data format.

How to Install?
1.Enable the ‘Unknown sources’ (under Settings->Security->Device Administration) to allow installation of App from sources other than the Play Store
2.Uninstall earlier version of VIRAT app, if installed earlier
3.Copy the current version apk file to your device
4.Click the downloaded APK file once for installation
5.Disable the ‘Unknown sources’
6.Ensure the internet connection is enabled before opening the App first time and also whenever accessing the Status Retrival modules

Limitations :
1. Presently App will work only within NIC network
2. Status Retrieval modules only available
eDistrict Services :
As per the national rollout guidelines (June, 2011), the States / UTs have to select 10 service categories (each service category can have multiple services under it).
Out of these 10 service categories, 5 services are mandatory service categories and the remaining 5 categories are optional service categories and can be decided by States as per their requirements.
The 5 mandatory service categories that have been identified at the national level and shall be taken up for implementation by all States which agree to participate in the e District MMP are :
** Issue of Certificates including services: Birth, Death, Domicile, Nationality, Caste, Marriage, Income, Employment, etc.
** Social Welfare Schemes including services – Social Welfare Pensions (Old age, Widow, Handicap, Destitute), Scholarships.
** Revenue Court including services – Case listing, Case adjournment, Stay orders, Final orders, Status of execution of orders: information, tracking, filing of miscellaneous applications. Also, Government dues and recovery, as part of Land Revenue – including issue of notices, record payments, track default processes, updation of treasury receipts, etc.
** Ration Card related services including change of address, addition or deletion of members, application for issue of duplicates, etc.
** Grievance redressal and RTI services
