Pension Functions
The Pension Group headed by an I.A. & A.S. Officer of the rank of Deputy Accountant General / Senior Deputy Accountant General deals with Verification and Authorisation of Pension Claims of
1. All Assam State Government Employees other than teaching and non-teaching of provincialised school.
2. Pension cases of All India Service Officers borne on Assam State cadre
3. High Court Judges who retire from Guwahati High Court or any branch under G.H.C.
4. Chairman and members of Assam Public Service Commission and Tribunals.
5. Staff of other Governments drawing pension in Assam.
Processing of Pension Application
Procedure for Submission of Application by the Pensioner and the Process involved in the payment :
Pensioner :
Submission of signed Application to the Office of the Accountant General (A&E) through his Department along with the following
** Pension Application – 2 copies
** Joint Photo (with spouse) – 2 copies of Passport size Joint Photographs with wife or husband duly attested by Head of Office
** Identification Marks – 2 copies duly attested by a Gazetted Officer
** Specimen signature – 2 sets duly attested by a Gazetted Officer
** Nomination for Life Time Arrears of Pension / Gratuity /CVP.
** Details of family – with age and marital status ( if possible with the date of marriage) and details of handicapped members, if any, with Medical Certificate from a Civil Surgeon
** Death Certificate / Legal Heirship Certificate in the case of Family Pension along with the application for Family Pension
** Form 19 showing outstanding Govt. dues, if any/ Provisional Pension/ Provisional DCRG/ Provisional Family Pension sanctioned and disbursed.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. When will a retired Government Servant get his /her Pensionary benefits?
Pensionary benefits are authorized within two months from the date of receipt of Pension proposals in complete shape from Departments/Pension Sanctioning Authorities.
2. What is the procedure for drawing Pensionary benefits?
The Pensioner has to present himself with his personal copy of authority/intimation letter for Pension, Gratuity and CVP to the Treasury to whom A.G.’s Office has authorized the Pension/Gratuity/CVP.
3. What are the reasons for the difference in the pensionary benefits calculated by the Department and that admitted by A.G.?
The difference may be due to error in arriving at the qualifying service and some erroneous pay fixation done by the Department.
4. What is the reason for withholding a part of pensionary benefits?
Generally, due to erroneous pay fixation done by the Department result in over payment of Pay and Allowances during his/her service life and to adjust the overpayment, a portion of pensionary benefits (i.e DCRG/DR) are withheld till final reply is not received from Department.
Moreover, when the House Building Advance, Motor Car Advance and Computer Advance etc. are remained outstanding, DCRG is to be held overdue as per existing Rules till asserting of total Govt. dues are outstanding.
