Who Can Donate?
You can Donate Plasma if
** You are aged between 18-60 years.
** You Weigh above 55 Kilograms.
** A prior diagnosis of COVID-19 (as documented by a diagnostic test at the time of illness by RT-PCR from a Govt. Recognized Laboratory)
** You must have recovered from Covid-19 disease with complete resolution of symptoms and at least one negative Lab test before 28 days of donation.
Who Are Not Eligible?
You can’t Donate Plasma if
** You are diabetic & under insulin.
** Your blood pressure is more than 100-140 mm Hg (systolic) and 60-90 mm Hg (diastolic) with or without medications.
** You have uncontrolled diabetics or hypertension with change in medication in last 28 days.
** You are a Cancer survivor.
** You have Chronic Kidney/Heart/Lungs or Liver disease.
** Women, who have ever been Pregnant.

1. Can a donor donate plasma for the second time?
Yes, he can donate for the second time after a minimum gap of 14 days and with the approval from the doctor.
2. Where can we donate plasma?
A blood bank having Apheresis machine can collect Plasma. For the time being it is available at SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack. In near future it will be extended to other places.
3. How many persons can be cured with one person’s plasma?
Two persons.
4. What are the tests, the donor is to undergo?
Common tests for blood related diseases are done.
5. Is it necessary to take the consent of the recipient for plasma therapy?
Yes. The informed consent either of the patient or of his near relatives is required.
6. What help does the plasma donor get from the Govt.?
Government bears his travel, food and accommodation expenses and a certificate is issued in his favour.
7. Who are eligible for Plasma Therapy?
COVID-19 Patients with severe illness are eligible for Plasma Therapy
8. Is Plasma Therapy provided free of cost?
Yes, it is completely provided free of cost.
9. Is there any side effect of Plasma therapy?
Minimal side effect as in Blood transfusion may be there which can be well managed. But the benefit to the recipient is high.
10. Is plasma donation painful?
No. It is a process similar to Blood Donation.
