e-Payment :
This is the facility provided to the dealer to make Commercial Tax payments online using net- banking facility.

Is it mandatory to pay Commercial Tax online :
e-Payment is mandatory for the sales tax dealers whose annual tax payment are more than Rs.10 Lacs and for the registered employers whose annual payment of profession tax are more than Rs.30 thousands. Besides this, e-Payment can be made voluntarily also.

How do I know which bank is authorized to provide this facility :
At present State Bank of India (SBI), United Bank of India (UBI), Central Bank of India (CBI), Allahabad Bank and Bank of Baroda are authorized to receive e-Payment of Commercial Taxes. Efforts are on to include more number of nationalized banks.

How can I use this facility to pay Commercial Taxes :
You can use the facility if you have a bank account with net-banking facility in any of the above mentioned five banks. You have to go to the respective bank’s website and login for making payment by using the user-id and password given to you by your bank.

In case of e-Payment done unsuccessful but Amt. debited from bank or PAID challan does not appear or Payment not reported to GRIPS :
Normally, the paid challan (for all above reasons) should be available after 72Hrs of working days from the date of payment automatically.

Sometime payment made in Online mode and if link is failed then for this reason the paid challan is not generated. In this type of cases the paid challan will be generated when RBI will upload their file to GRIPS Portal.

Once RBI uploads their file, pending challan gets converted to successful payment. Normally, it appears after 72hrs of working days. It is also to be noted that the issue will be resolved from RBI end, not from Commercial Tax Directorate end.

In case paid challan not appearing after waiting 3/4 working days :

In case of Challan generated with wrong detail :
There is no correction option available online through website, if once e-Payment done successfully.

However, dealers are advised to make a duly signed application in writing (hard copy) addressed to the Public Relations Officer, Main Building, 2nd Floor, 14, Beliaghata Road, Kolkata-700015, along with the copy of GRIPS Challan for examining the matter and doing the needful.
