International Driving Permit
International Driving Permit means the license issued by a licensing authority in India to an Indian National,

authorising the person to drive any categories of motor vehicles as specified in Form 6-A in the areas or territories of countries other than India that are Parties to the Convention on Road Traffic signed at Geneva on 19th day of September, 1949
Issue of International driving permit :
An application for an International Driving Permit is required to be made in Form 4 A accompanied by
** valid driving license issued by the licensing authority
** appropriate fee as specified in CMVR 32;
** three copies of the applicant’s rec ent passport photograph;
** a medical certificate in Form 1
** valid proof of Indian Nationals;
** valid proof of passport; and
** valid proof of visa, wherever applicable.
** Licensing authority is required to issue International Driving Permit in Form 6 – A and is valid for a period of not more than one year from the date of issue, or till the validity of the driving license , whichever is earlier. [CMVR 16(4
International Driving Permit
Congratulations for getting Visa to visit foreign country for study purpose, employment or even for tourist purpose. If you are interested to show your skills on foreign land you are required to obtain International driving permit. IDP is valid only in the country we have signed under UN conversion.
Basic Requirement :
** Valid driving License along with certified copies
** Passport along with certified copies
** Visa along with certified copies
** Medical Certificate in Form IA
** Payment of prescribed fees (at present Rs.500/- only)
** Applicant should submit the application in whose jurisdiction he stays. It is advisable to applicant to get the necessary changes about the address on motor driving License before submitting the application for IDP.
** The applicant is required to appear before licensing authority for grant of IDP.
