Who manages Dial.Gov?
National Informatics Centre (NIC) is project managing the Dial.Gov programme, under the supervision of Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY).

Is it an end-to-end delivery platform?
No. At this time the service is only restricted to disseminating information on respective welfare schemes.

What is the purpose of the IVRS facility in Dial.Gov?
The Interactive Voice Response facility is an alternatedelivery platform, where the caller interacts with the system and the system gives out the desired information. The caller instantly gets connected to the system and gets the desired information in an efficient manner.

The IVRS facility for Dial.Gov has the capability of understanding Indian accents for the English & Hindi languages. Other regional languages are envisaged to be introduced at a later stage.

In cases where the call cannot be completed owing to difficulties in understanding the dialect, the call automatically gets connected to an agent in the Call Centre.

What kind of support is provided by the Dial.Gov Call Centre?
The Call Centre is a very important delivery channel for the service. Functioning of the Call Centre is primarily aimed at serving citizens who do not have access to the internet. Currently, the Call Centre agents are adept in handling calls in English, Hindi, Bengali and Tamil.

Will I be able to seek benefit information provided by the Government of India to groups of individuals?
At this time, the service is restricted to only provide individual benefit information.

I do not see all benefit schemes captured under the concerned benefit domain?
Dial.Gov is developed on a dynamic back-end platform and the scheme information is regularly updated. Usually, welfare scheme related information is frequently updated and edited by the Central and State Ministries / Departments.

While it is possible that information on a few schemes might not be available at a given time, our effort is to only include properly verified data that could be used by the common man.
