KWA Kerala Connection Procedure

** Request for application in plain paper has to be submitted by the applicant to the concerned Assistant Executive Engineer of KWA Sub Division, under whose jurisdiction place of connection comes

** The application form filled up by the applicant isare to be submitted to the concerned Assistant Executive Engineer. The ownership certificate from the local body/copy of building permit, copy of ration card, permit of inside installation, four copies of plan ( prepared by a licensed plumber of KWA ) and necessary postage stamps ( affixed in the acknowledgement cards ) have to be attached with it.
** After preliminary scrutiny at the subdivision the receipt of the application will be registered and an acknowledgement card will be sent to the applicant.
** The application is then forwarded to the concerned Assistant Engineer for feasibility report.
** The Assistant Engineer after site inspection will submit the application to the Asst. Executive Engineer with the feasibility report and remarks if any.
** The feasible applications, does not require any clearance from other departments (PWD, NH, Local bodies etc.), will be given a temporary sanction within a week and the applicant will be asked to execute the water supply agreement in Rs. 50/- stamp paper and submit a sound water meter. The consumer, then has to remit the deposit and fees for the water connection. For others, the applicant has to produce the required clearance from other departments (consent/tar cut sanction from Local Body/PWD/NH if the line crosses public road after realising the restoration charges from the applicant there), and the time limit for temporary sanction will be one week after getting such clearance.
** After remitting the required fee, work order for the connection is issued from the sub division and the application is forwarded to the Assistant Engineer for further action.
** The applicant has to submit completion report (inside installations and plumbing work up to the meter point) through the plumber. The connection shall be given after verifying the plumbing work. The maximum validity of the work order is six months.
** A provisional invoice card and a meter reading card will be issued to the consumer on the date of connection itself. The consumer shall make sure of the receipt of these cards while getting the connection and is bound to produce the same on demand by the officials of Kerala Water Authority.
