How To Check Central Bank of India Account Balance?

Central Bank of India CBI offered a facility to customers to know their account balance through Internet Banking & SMS Banking. First we will see details about Internet Banking.

Check CBI Account Balance Through Internet Banking

This facility is offered to customers of the branches, which are covered under Core Banking. For list of core banking branches please see the CBS Branches link in the home page of the site.

Customers having Savings/OD/CD accounts with our branches and intend to have Internet Banking facility may submit the application form, appended below, to their respective branches where they are maintaining their accounts.

On receipt of the duly filled in application form, the process of registering their application for Internet Banking will start. The Bank will dispatch to the customers passwords for Login and Transaction separately. Upon receipt of the passwords, customers need to visit the branch for collecting the User ID (Customer ID) and activating the Internet Banking facility.

Procedure :
Go to the Central Bank of India URL provided above. Click on the login link available for Internet Banking.

A new page will be opened. Click the link ‘Please Click here to proceed’.

Step 1 : Enter your User Id
Step 2 : Enter your Password
Step 3 : Click Login Button
You can also type your password in screen keyboard

If you are a New User contact home branch for Availing Internet Banking facility.

Facilities through Internet Banking :
1) Balance enquiry in the Accounts
2) Cheque status enquiry
3) Display of transactions for a specified period/ current period
4) Download/ print of statement of account in various formats for a specified period/ current period.
5) Funds transfer between own accounts
6) Funds transfer between own account to any third party account maintained in any core banking branch up to specified limits.
7) Stop payment of cheques
Customers are requested not to disclose their passwords to any one. They are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of the password and the. Bank does not assume any responsibility in this behalf.

Check CBI Account Balance Through SMS Banking

Customers of the bank can receive SMS Alerts automatically :
** When customer account is Debited / Credited for more than Rs.5000/- or as per customer request for amount greater than Rs.5000/-.
** When a cheque issued by customer is dishonored for want of funds.
** When the balance in customer’s account becomes below the minimum balance level on account of certain debit transactions, an alert will go to customer to fund the account.
** Alerts informing the customer about maturity of his fixed deposit. This alert will be sent seven days before the maturity date.

To avail SMS Enquiry related services :
** Customer has to submit the Application form to CBS branch with details of account and Mobile Number.
** Customer will receive PIN within 5 working days, which is a 4-digit number.
** Customer has to acknowledge receipt of PIN, which will be activated by branch.

Customers are advised to keep the password confidential and to delete the messages from the mobile phone from the sent items list.

Once you login you will be able to find detailed summary of your account by clicking account summary page.

Book balance includes uncleared effects. You can check details of each account number from where amount received.

Central Bank of India Cheque Enquiry

Customer is provided the following option :
1. Stop cheque payment :
In case of loss of cheque (s), on entry of the cheque number, system will mark the stop payment against the loss of cheques punched by the customer.

2. Cheque Status :
Through this option, customer can enquire the status of a particular cheque whether presented or Not.

Product Information :
Information on Bank’s services in the form of pre-recorded messages will be announced when the customer opts for Product Information through Central Bank of India Tele-Banking. This is bifurcated as – Deposits, Loans, Other New Products.

TPIN Change :
At any point of time, customer can change the allotted/ existing TPIN to new one.

Answer:
CIF means “Customer’s Information File”. You can get it from any branches of CBI (or) you can check your branch’s passbook. There is printed your CIF number.
