Safety Tips

Do’s :
** Use slim line tube lights instead of incandescent bulbs .It will, save 60% in addition to more light.
** Switch off Lights & Fans when you are Leaving the room for a short while ,It means saving 15% on your monthly power bill

** Use LED in place of 100w ordinary incandescent lamps, it will save 75-80% energy ..
** Replace damaged or partially damaged Plugs, Sockets & other electrical appliances to avoid accidents

** Keep Lights and Fixtures clean and dirt free.Dust and dirt reduce lighting level by as much 30%.
** Pay your electricity bills in time & help us to serve you better

** Always use ISI mark appliances/Equipments E.g. Desert Cooler ,Acs,Water Pumps,Motores and Domestic Appliances
** Clean bulbs and tube lights periodically to avoid reduction in illumination.

About Us :
Himachal Pradesh is almost wholly mountainous state having altitudes ranging from 350meters to 6,975 with climate conditions varying from semi-tropical to semi-arctic. The total population of Himachal Pradesh as per 2011 census was 68,56,509 with population density being 123 persons per sq. Km.

Electric supply at the time of formation of the state in 1948 was available only in the Capitals of the erstwhile princely states and the connected load at the time was less than 500 kW. Thus the organization of the power utility in the state began relatively recently and first electrical division was formed in August,1953 under the Public Works Department. Subsequently a department of M.P.P & Power was formed in April, 1964.

The functions of HPSEB include:

** Transmission: HPSEB transmits electricity from the generation stations to the distribution substations.
** Distribution: HPSEB distributes electricity to the consumers in the state.
** Metering: HPSEB meters the electricity consumption of consumers and bills them accordingly.
** Customer service: HPSEB provides customer service to consumers, such as resolving complaints and providing information.
