Telangana Transport Certificate of Registration Renewal

An application for Renewal of Certificate of Registration shall be made in Form 25 not more than 60 days before the date of its expiry, by paying the appropriate fee as specified in Rule 81 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules 1989, to the Registrating Authority in whose Jurisdiction the vehicle is.

Amount Payable for belated Applications :
** In case the period of delay does not exceed 3 Months Rs.25/-
** In case the period of delay does not exceed 6 Months Rs.50/-
** In case the period of delay does not exceed 9 Months Rs.75/-
** In case the period of delay exceeds 9 Months Rs.100

Requirements for Renewal of Registration Certificate :
** Form – 25 for Non-Transport Category (duly signed by the Registered Owner / duly signed by owner and financer if covered by finance)
** Original Certificate of Registration.
** Insurance Certificate
** Pollution Under Control Certificate
** Vehicle shall be produced before the Inspecting Authority for inspection in Good Condition.
** Tax payment receipt
** Applicable Green Tax as per Rules.

Note :
The application should be filed 60 days before the date of expiry of registration certificate.

Validity :
** The Non-Transport Category vehicle is renewed for 5 years from the date of approval if application is approved after expiry date of registration certificate or if it submitted before the date of expiry then 5 years from the date of expiry.
** For a Transport Category Vehicle the Renewal of Certificate of Fitness is itself called the renewal of registration certificate and its validity is 1 year from the date of approval or if it submitted in time i.e., before 15 days of expiry then validity is 1 year from the date of expiry. The Transport Department functions under the provisions of section 213 of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988. The Transport Department is primarily established for enforcement of the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988, Andhra Pradesh Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1963 and the rules framed there under. The major functions of the Transport Department are the Enforcement of the Motor Vehicles Act and Rules, Collection of taxes and fees and issuance of Driving Licences and Certificate of Fitness to Transport Vehicles; Registration of Motor Vehicles and granting regular and temporary permits to vehicles.

Functions of Telangana Transport

The Transport Department of Telangana is responsible for the following functions:
