Obtain License
Documents required :-
** Application on the prescribed form for poison Click to Download / for sulphur license application on plain paper.
** Site and Key Plan of the premises prepared by Registered Architect and also undertaking that it will not violate the provision of Master plan 2021.
** Photographs of the Premises from all directions depicting the clearance from other shops.
** Proof of ownership, residence duly attested by Gazetted Officer.
** If the applicant is a Company/Firm, then the copy of agenda/ resolution/minutes issued by the company, registration certificate etc. to be submitted.
** Two photographs of the applicant.

Procedure :
Application along with required documents can be submitted in the Licensing Unit, on any working day during public dealing hours (9.30 am to 12.30 pm).
For renewal of Existing Licenses :
Documents required :
** Application for renewal in a plain paper.
** Original sulphur/poison license.

SAFETY TIPS (For storage/sale of Poison) :
** A license holder shall not sell any poison to any person unless the latter is personally known to him or identified to his satisfaction. Poison shall not be sold to a person below 18 years of age or mentally unfit person.
** All poisons kept for sale by any license holder under these rules except those by a chemist, druggist or compounder for the purpose of dispensing or compounding in compliance with the prescription of a medical or a veterinary practitioner) shall be kept in a box, almirah, room or building (according to the quantity maintained) which shall be secured by lock and key and in which no substance shall be placed other than poison possessed in accordance with a license granted under the Act.
** Every such box, almirah, room or building and every such receptacle, shall be marked with the word ‘poison’ in red characters, both English and Vernacular with the name of such poison.
SAFETY TIPS (For storage/sale of Sulphur) :
** Godown /Premises should be without electricity connection.
** Godown /Premises should be well ventilated.
** Godown /Premises should be surrounded by open area at least on 3 sides (Front by 20” sides by 5”).
** Sulphur should not be stored loose (should be stored in Paper or HDPE bags)
** Sulphur should be stored on wooden planks.
** Proper/working Fire extinguisher should be installed.
** No–Smoking board should be displayed.
** The license shall forthwith give information at the nearest police station of the loss or theft of license.
** Sulphur shall not be kept in the same room with saltpetre. Provided that, where the quantity of each does not exceed 100kgs. sulphur and saltpetre can be kept in separate closed receptacles in the same room.
** No person should smoke and no open fires should be allowed at any time in the premises.
** Where any building used for storage of such materials is fitted with electric lighting or power, the licensee shall get these installations tested at least once a year or once during the currency of the license, by an Electrical Inspector appointed under the Indian Electricity Act, 1910, to ensure that there is no danger of fire or sparking.
** Any accident, fire or explosion occurring within the premise, which is attended with loss of human life or serious injury to person or property shell be reported at once by the licensee to the officer in-charge of the nearest police station having jurisdiction over his place of business, factory or shop, as well as to the Inspector of Explosive of the circle concerned.
