Registration of New Vehicle :
Step 1 :
Purchase the ‘Registration of New Vehicle’ File from the R&LA Sale counter OR

Step 2 :
Read the instructions mentioned in the File/Forms carefully.
Step 3 :
Complete and attach all the required Documents/Forms as per the CheckList.
Step 4 :
Get your Vehicle Inspection (Passing) conducted by the Motor Vehicle Inspector .

Step 5 :
Obtain a Token from the RC counter at the concerned R&LA Office.

Step 6 :
Deposit the complete file and fees at the concerned counter (as per your Token No.) & collect your File Receipt.

Step 7 :
Go to the High Security Registration Plate (HSRP) counter. Deposit the fee for your HSRP and collect your HSRP Authorization Slip & fee slip.
Step 8 :
Get your High Security Registration Plate affixed on your vehicle on the assigned fitment date from your respective R&LA Office
Step 9 :
Your Registration Certificate (RC) will be dispatched to you via Speed Post, and will be delivered at your given address.
Note :
** This is a downloaded File. In order to deposit the same, the applicant has to collect the ‘File receipt’ from the R&LA File Sale Counter after depositing the concerned File Fee.
** Please bring the original documents whose attested photocopies have been attached with the file.

1. Form No. 20 PDF (Application for registration of a motor vehicle)
2. Form No. 21 (Sale Certificate in original, issued by the dealer)
3. Form No. 22 (Pollution Certificate in original, issued by the dealer)
4. Form No. 34 PDF (In duplicate, in case of Hire-Purchase, Lease, Hypothecation)
5. Copy of PAN card (Self attested)
6. Form No. 60 PDF (In duplicate, if applicant doesn’t have a PAN card)
7. Temporary Registration Certificate (In original, issued by the dealer)
8. Chassis & Engine Pencil Print (Plate prints not acceptable)
9. Copy of valid Insurance Certificate (Self attested)
10. Copy of Address proof (Self attested, for details, “Click Here” ).
11. Affidavit PDF for Address Proof (If applicable).
12. Copy of Date of Birth Proof (Self attested, for details,”Click Here” ).
13. Invoice (In original) OR, VAT paid receipt (In original, if vehicle is purchased from other State)
14. Special/ Choice Number booking receipt (In original, if applicable)
15. Undertaking for Delayed Registration (If vehicle is being registered after 1 month of Temporary Registration)
16. NCRB/MOB Report from Police Headquarters, Sector 9, Chandigarh (If vehicle is being registered after 3 months of Temporary Registration)
17. Authorization, in case of Proprietorship/ Private Limited/ Limited/ Partnership Firms (If applicable, for details,”Click Here”)
18. Authority Letter PDF (If applicable)
