About Us :
The state of Maharashtra come into existence in the year 1960 after bifurcation of old Bombay State into Maharashtra and Gujarat. In the year 1960 the Public Works Department was divided into Irrigation Department and Building and Communication Department. Since 26 October 2004 Irrigation Department is known as Water Resources Department. Water Resources Department has a glorious history of Irrigation over last the 150 years. Before existence of State of Maharashtra it had three irrigation acts in existence for western Maharashtra Bombay irrigation Act 1879(Mumbai), for Vidarbha, Central provisions Act 1931(Pune) and for Marathwada, Hyderabad irrigation act was in existence(Nashik). After Maharashtra State came into existence, new irrigation act was formed for all of Maharashtra on 5 August 1976.

ICIS computers can be used for working with documents, spreadsheets and presentations. They can also be used for internet related work such as official emails, online application like BDS or Sevaarth and other applications required in day-to-day working

Can we use other computers for working on ICIS?
Yes, the application can be accessed from any computer as well as any browser. The ICIS application is Operating System (Windows/ Linux/ IOs) independent. There is no restriction of using only the systems provided under ICIS for accessing ICIS application.

Any available system from office or anywhere with an internet connection can be used for working on ICIS. You need to have your user id and password handy.

How do I activate Marathi Unicode font on Ubuntu Linux desktops/laptops?
Please take the below steps for activating Marathi Unicode font on Linux machines :
1. Click on the icon on top left hand corner OR press the ‘Windows’ icon key on keyboard which opens ‘Dash’
2. Type in ‘key’, and from the available list, click on ‘Keyboard Input Methods’

3. On the next dialog box, click on ‘Yes’. Click on ‘Ok’ on the dialog box which opens later
4. The dialog box titled ‘IBUS Preferences’ is opened. Go to ‘Input Methods’>Select Input Method>Here, select the required option under ‘Hindi’ or ‘Marathi’, such as ‘typewriter(m17n) etc

5. Open LibreOffice and open a word document
6. Click the ‘keyboard’ icon near top right corner and select the input method. The input method selected in step 4 shall be available here for selection

7. On selecting the correct input method for Marathi, typing in Marathi is enabled
8. To toggle (switch) between Marathi and English typing, press ‘Ctrl+Spacebar’ keys on the keyboard

9. If certain Marathi characters are not found on the keyboard, go to ‘Insert>Special Character’ in the word document and select the required character
