What is Maternity Assistance Scheme?
Maternity Assistance Scheme is provided by Gujarat Labour,Skill Development and Employment Department. Objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance during pregnancy to women construction workers and construction workers’ wives registered with the Gujarat Building and Other Construction Labor Welfare Board and to provide social stability to construction workers.

Eligibility of Maternity Assistance Scheme
Construction workers registered with the Gujarat Building and Other Construction Labor Welfare Board will be eligible to benefit from this scheme. Financial assistance for the first two births of a registered female construction worker and financial assistance for the first two births of a registered construction worker’s wife.
Benefits of Maternity Assistance Scheme
Financial assistance of Rs 6,000/- to the wife of a registered construction worker for the first two deliveries and Rs 37,500/- to a registered female construction worker.
How To Apply For Maternity Assistance Scheme?

** Surgeon/Gynek PHC Approved Doctor’s Certificate/Copy of Mamata Card (in case of registered female worker)
** Birth certificate

** Aadhar card of the beneficiary
** First page of bank passbook
** Affidavit copy
Rules & Condition of Maternity Assistance Scheme
** Rs.17,500/- before maternity assistance in case of registered women construction worker should be applied in 06 (six) month along with Surgeon/Surgeon/Surgeon/Surgeon/Surgeon PHC approved doctor’s certificate/ copy of Mamta card (in case of registered women worker) Doctor’s certificate/Mamta card
** The application should be inwarded in the office before the completion of 06 months (six) counting the period from the date of inwarding of the application in the office of the board in copy of the card.
** In the case of female construction workers registered in post-delivery application, post-delivery financial assistance of Rs.20,000/- and Rs.6000/- in case of wife of a construction worker is provided. Application should be made within 12 (twelve) months after delivery.
Working Mechanism :
The Workers need to apply on sanman portal
** If they have submitted physical form, district Project Manager would submit it online.
** It would be then approved by district Nirikshak.
** Then it would be submitted to state project manager of Head office.
** It would then be approved by head office Govt Labour officer and then Member Secretary subsequently.
** After approval of the application DBT would be done in workers account.
