What is Mo-Ghara Odisha?
Mo Ghara is a housing scheme launched by the Government of Odisha in May 2023 to provide financial assistance to rural households for the construction, upgradation, extension, or completion of their pucca houses. The scheme aims to fulfill the aspiration of lower and lower-middle-class families for decent and safe housing and contribute to the “Pucca House for All” mission of the state government.
Key features of the Mo Ghara scheme:
** Eligibility: Open to families with an annual income of less than Rs. 3.6 lakh and owning less than 5 acres of irrigated or 15 acres of non-irrigated land.
** Loan amount: Up to Rs. 3 lakh for new construction, Rs. 1.5 lakh for upgradation/extension, and Rs. 75,000 for completion of pucca houses.
** Interest subsidy: 3% for a loan tenure of 20 years and 4% for a loan tenure of 15 years.
** Repayment: Through monthly installments to the lending bank.
