What is Meghalaya Ramie Crop Scheme?
The “Ramie Crop Scheme” is a State Plan Scheme, which is implemented by the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of Meghalaya. The objective of the scheme is to encourage the cultivation of perennial and remunerative textile crops such as Ramie in suitable areas by providing necessary inputs and training. The bonafide farmers of Meghalaya who are engaged in agriculture can avail the benefits under the scheme. The bonafide farmers can apply in plain paper through the nearest Agriculture Development Officer of a CD Block/ Agriculture Circle.

To provide planting materials, degumming, and decorticating machines to the farmers.

Eligibility of Meghalaya Ramie Crop Scheme
** The applicant should be a resident of Meghalaya.
** The applicant should be a bonafide farmer engaged in agriculture.

To apply for Meghalaya Ramie Crop Scheme, Follow the below steps
Steps:
Step-1: The eligible bonafide farmer can apply/write an application on plain paper.
Step-2: Along with the application, attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step-3: Submit the duly filled and signed application along with the relevant documents at the nearest office of the Agriculture Development Officer of a CD Block/Agriculture Circle.
Mode of Selection of Beneficiary(s):
The bonafide farmers having sufficient available cultivable land on a first come first served basis.
