How To Apply For Indraprastha Gas New Connection?

Click on “PNG Connection Request Submission” and fill your details. Ensure that floor where connection is required (e.g. GF, FF etc) is mentioned in the details. On successful submission you will get a “Reference number” which you can use for further correspondence with Indraprastha Gas IGL with regard to your request for PNG connection.


PNG connection request with wrong/incomplete address will be summarily cancelled.
Once submitted successfully, the technical feasibility survey will be carried out by our technical representative at your premises. After feasibility of PNG connection at your premises is confirmed, you will get intimation from IGL through email to complete the registration process.

Payment & Submission of Documents (Step 2) :
After receiving the feasibility confirmation, Kindly send the following to below mentioned address to complete your registration :-
1. Print out of your registration form with your signature
2. LPG Undertaking (enclosed in print out of registration form)
3. Cheque of Rs. 6000/- in favor of “Indraprastha Gas Limited” (Rs 5000/- as defined in clause 1 under Customers’ Rights and Obligations of the Terms & Conditions and Rs.1000/- clause 8 under Customers’ Rights and Obligations of the Terms & Conditions)

4. Ownership Proof (Copy of any one of the following documents) :
a. Latest House tax receipt
b. First 5 pages of Sales deed or Copy of Rent Agreement (if applied through “Owner Type – Rented”)

c. Latest Electricity Bill :

1. What is Natural Gas ?
PNG is mainly methane – CH4 with a small percentage of other higher hydrocarbons. The ratio of carbon to hydrogen is least in methane and hence it burns almost completely making it the cleanest fuel. It is procured from the oil / gas wells and transported through a network of pipelines across the country

2. Where is PNG stored in Delhi ?
PNG in Delhi is not stored at one place but is continuously supplied through the Hazira-Bijapur-Jagdishpur (HBJ) pipeline of GAIL.

3. Is the supply of PNG regular ?
Yes, the supply is absolutely regular. The pipeline distribution network is based on an on-line supply system that consists of safety valves and regulators that control and monitor the gas supply and pressure, and assist in identifying system leaks. Thus an un-interrupted supply at a constant pressure is assured.

4. What changes are required for conversion of an LPG appliance to be PNG friendly ?
PNG works on a cooking appliance just like LPG does. Converting an existing LPG appliance to a PNG friendly one is done by trained IGL technicians, and at no extra cost.

5. What becomes of the LPG cylinders after the cooking appliance gets converted ?
The LPG connection can be surrendered to the respective oil company and security deposit refund obtained.

You are under obligation to discontinue the LPG connection as per the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas directive dated 23.09.09 according to which both LPG & PNG connection can not be availed at the same address (even under different names / relations).

If however you do not submit the same within 60 days of completion of PNG connection as per the directive, PNG supply shall be discontinued.

1. All piping / meter installation at my residence has been completed several months back. Yet service is not complete. There is a small section of underground service pipeline to be installed. Repeated requests by phone/ messages have not been of any use. About 4 months back someone visited residence to inspect and promised work will get completed in few weeks. Alas nothing has been done. We , senior citizen couple ( both 90 plus years) have to struggle with gas cylinders and need immediate help to get gas supply started through IGL. Would appreciate action on this matter.

2. Gas pipeline has been laid for more than a month. but the gas supply has not been restored yet. Have complained on Customer Care innumerable times. Writtend E mail also, but no use. I don’t know how pathetic services of IGL are there.It is bringing bad name to the company. The contractors are not giving an ear to the issues creeping in. I don’t think due to such attitude the company is going to survive much in its future.

Error / Problem:
1. I am an existing user on IGL site.Trying to make bill payment through net banking,but unable to do so,as i cannot register on the upgraded portal .Information available on IGL site for registration of existing customers not proven helpful,there is no Existing customer tab in Customer zone as specified.Want information on registering on upgraded portal

    My name is Shine P Sasidhar. I have applied for the connection on nov 2022 along with a cheque of Rs.7000. along with all documents.
    After 6 moths the cheque is returned and collected a new cheque and which is cleared on May 2023.

  • I am sorry to say that IGL has been a total let down for me. Even after nearly 2 months I don't the status of my application for a new connection. My BP number is 400180XXXX. The deposit cheque was encashed on 13-04-2023.
    Really don't know whom to turn to for help. Numerous contacts and complaints have no effect. Is there any portal where I can get complaint number.

  • Hi - BP number 5000191491. As soon as the request was lodged, a person called Kuldeep contacted me and told that he would help in my connection installation throughout the process. Post that, I contacted him for feasibility check status and he told it would take time. Only on asking repeated times did he reply that the feasibility check is done and again promised that he would push the installation process. On checking after a week or so about the same, he sent me a payment link to do a security deposit of '7000'. Once I did the same, I again had to follow up with him after a week and then he told that he is from the Marketing team and he can't help with Installation process. He told me that he would provide me the contact details of the 'Installation team' person but I'm still awaiting the same.

  • I have applied for IGL Gas connection in July, 2018 vide BP No. 4000656435 and all the documents together with cheque for Rs. 6,000/- was also deposited. A foraml confirmation of receipt of documents was received from IGL on 19.07.2020. However, no information has been given so far.
