Entrepreneur Development Programmes (EDP) :
MSME DI regularly conducts general and product specific EDPs for prospective entrepreneurs.

These programmes are conducted for 4 weeks in the trades of Screen Printing, Manufacture of Leather goods, Chemical and allied products, Electronics, Repair and servicing of electronic and electrical appliances etc, for setting up self-employment ventures by the educated unemployed youths.

Central Government Stores Purchase Programme :
Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) are assisted in capacity assessment for registering with the National Small Industries Corporation Ltd, under the CGSPP. The enlisted MSEs are eligible to supply to Government Departments and are exempted from paying EMD and tender application cost. The role of MSME DI is to assess the technical capacity assessment of an enterprise.

Online MSME / SSI registration :
The online service for filing of Entrepreneur Memorandum (EM) Part-I is introduced mainly to help the entrepreneurs to obtain the acknowledgement of EM Part I readily without contacting the General Managers of District Industries Centres and Regional Joint Director, Chennai. This Online Entrepreneur Memorandum Acknowledgement shall be valid only if self certified by the applicant and also the receipt of self certified copy of generated online application with Acknowledgement at the respective DIC/Regional Joint Director of Industries and Commerce, Chennai within 30 days from the date of filing of online application.

MSME DI guides prospective and existing entrepreneurs in selection of product, process, machinery, plant layout, raw material selection, modernization, quality improvement, product development, energy conservation, pollution control etc,

Micro Small and medium Enterprises Development institute (MSME DI), Chennai, :
established in the year 1954, as field level Institute under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India. Office of DC(MSME) is the apex body for formulating SSI policies in the country and it implements promotional activities through its country wide network of MSME DIs, Br. MSME DIs, Field Testing Stations, Prototype Development Centres and Tool Rooms etc.,
MSME DI, Chennai assists existing and prospective entrepreneurs by providing techno-managerial consultancy services and training in various areas. Br. MSME DI, Coimbatore and Tuticorin with an attached Workshop at Tirunelveli were established in the years 1984.
