How To Check EPF Account Balance?

** Please click on the following link to know the balance in your EPF Account upto the date, the accounts are updated, which also includes the latest approved transactions of settlement/advances/transfer-in/transfer-out,if any.

EPFO Gujarat Claim Status Check

** Select the EPFO office where your account is maintained and furnish your PF Account number.
** Leave the extension field blank, in case your account does not have one.
** You will be asked to enter your name and mobile number. The given mobile number will be recorded along with the PF Account Number.
** On successful submission of above information, the details will be sent through SMS to the given mobile number.

The facility is not for the current members of establishments having exemption under the EPF Scheme 1952.

UAN Service

A Universal Account Number (UAN) will be generated for each of the PF contributing members during the period 01/01/2014 to 30/06/2014 by EPFO. The UAN will act as an umbrella for the multiple Member Ids allotted to an individual by different establishments.

The idea is to link multiple Member Identification Numbers (Member Id) allotted to a single member under single Universal Account Number. This will help the member to view details of all the Member Identification Numbers (Member Id) linked to it.

If a member is already allotted Universal Account Number (UAN) then he / she is required to provide the same on joining new establishment to enable the employer to in-turn mark the new allotted Member Identification Number (Member Id) to the already allotted Universal Identification Number (UAN).

The main objective behind this new function is to capture KYC details of its members in order to eliminate the dependency on the employer and improve the quality of service. The KYC details will be tagged against the allotted UAN rather the member id thereby eliminating the redundancy.

The benefits of EPF Account are as follows:
** The employee’s contribution to the EPF Account is tax-deductible under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
** The employer’s contribution to the EPF Account is also tax-deductible under Section 36(1)(va) of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
** The EPF Account earns interest at a rate of 8.5% per annum.
** The EPF Account can be withdrawn after 5 years of continuous service.
** The EPF Account can be used to purchase a house or a flat.
** The EPF Account can be used to pay for the education of the employee’s children.
** The EPF Account can be used to meet the medical expenses of the employee and his/her family.
