How To Do ICE GATE Registration?

1) General information :
Minimum Software requirements
1) Java 1.6 or higher version (latest version recommended)

2) Administrative rights for local system
Notes : Do not use multiple versions of Java in the same system (x86 and 64 bit version)

2) PKI component is not Initializing.
** For internet explorer
a) Check for the Java plug-in are installed in web-browser and enable.
b) add website URL in the compatibility view setting Go to Internet explorer >> MENU >> Tools >> compatibility view setting
i) Add website URL in the compatibility view list click on add button
ii) Select all check boxes in window and close the window

For Firefox :
a) Check for the Java plug-in are installed in web-browser and enable.
b) If Java plug-in are installed and block or not enable please follow below steps to enable
Go to Firefox >> Menu >> Tools >> Add-ons >> Plug-in >> select Java >> always Activate

For Chrome :

a) Check for the Java plug-in are installed in web-browser and enable.
b) If Java plug-in are installed and block or not enable please follow below steps to enable Right click on the PKI component area and select activate Java to run the PKI component

3) Java version issue.
Currently Java version 1.6.x,1.7.x and 1.8.x are supported for signing utility (recommended to use latest version).

Note :
1) For updating Java version download the latest installed from java.com and install.
2) It is not recommended perform auto update.
3) Singing utility will not work as expected, if multiple JAVA version is installed and running on the system. Please un-install all older java version and keep only one latest java version only.

4) Signing issue after PKI component is initialize.
a) If you are using internet explorer below internet explorer version 8, please add website URL in the compatibility view mode.
b) Make sure that user has local system administrative right to run the PKI component.

5) Showing SSL certificate issue in Java console and PKI component not initialize
Go to control panel >> Java >> security Tab >>click on edit site list >> add URL in exception site list

b) Click on ok to close window you will get list to site in the security tab
c) Go to advance tab >> select Use SSL 2.0 compatibility hello format as show in below screen shot Apply settings and click on OK, go to web-browser restarts it, access website once again

FAQ On ICEGATE

Q1) Why Do I need to register at ICEGATE?
One can not file the documents online without being registered. Thus, in order to enable for filling online Shipping Bills and Bill of Entries and other documents one is required to have a registered ICEGATE ID.

Q2) What is the benefit of Registration at ICEGATE?
Following are the few benefits of registration at ICEGATE :
a) Once registered at the icegate, the ICEGATE ID is used to file all documents online.
b) Can see the status of his jobs online via document tracking system.

c) Get’s the positive or negative acknowledgement along with SB & BE numbers of his jobs on his registered email id.
d) Query and Query reply

Though Incoming file accepted from any mail id and acknowledgement given on the same, but outbound response for the files such as Query and Query reply is sent only to the e-mail registered and available in the ICEGATE Database.

Q3) How do I get registered at ICEGATE?
Registration is a simple process; you need to log on to ICEGATE website and click on the registration link on the home page or follow the link services register and fill up the registration form providing all the details required in the same.

Q4) For what all transaction type I can get registered for?
You can get registered for following types of transaction at ICEGATE.
a) Exports
b) Imports
c) IGM
d) EGM
e) Consol Manifest.

There are a few other transactions such as Query Reply and amendments to the BE and SB which also can be done through ICEGATE. For other transaction types, check the transaction type box in the registration page.

Q5) For what all Customs Ports I can get registered?
Users can get registered for all the above-referred transactions at all the EDI Customs Ports with a single registration at the ICEGATE, for list of ports check the customs locations box on registration page.

Functions of ICEGATE

ICEGATE, or Indian Customs Electronic Gateway, is a web-based platform that facilitates electronic filing of customs-related documents. It is a joint initiative of the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) and the National Informatics Centre (NIC).

ICEGATE enables a number of functions related to customs clearance, including:
** Electronic filing of Bill of Entry (BE) and Shipping Bill (SB): BE is a document that is filed by importers to declare the goods that they are importing into India. SB is a document that is filed by exporters to declare the goods that they are exporting from India.
** E-payment of customs duties: ICEGATE allows importers and exporters to pay customs duties electronically.
** Common signer utility: ICEGATE provides a common signer utility that can be used to sign all customs documents.
** Submission of supporting documents online: ICEGATE allows importers and exporters to submit supporting documents online, such as invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.”
