Consumer Complaint Registration

** Complaint can be registered within 2 years from the date on which the cause of action has arisen.
** Stamp paper is not required for declaration

** Complaint can be registered, in person, by the complainant or through his authorised agent or by post addressed to the Redressal Agency.
** Lawyers are not necessary.

particulars that should be furnished along with the complaint :
The complaint should contain the following particulars :
** The name and complete address of the complainant
** The name and complete address of the opposite party/parties
** Date of purchase goods or services availed
** Amount paid for the above purpose
** Particulars of goods purchases with numbers or details of services availed
** The details of complaint, whether it is against Unfair Trade Practice / supply of defective goods / deficiency in service provided / collection of excess price, should explicitly be mentioned in the complaint petition.
** Bills / receipts and copies of connected correspondence, if any,
** The relief sought for under this Act.

Problems faced by card holders :
** Non receipt of commodities in prescribed quantity, good quality, correct price and in exact weight through fair price shops
** Non opening and closing of Fair Price Shops in prescribed timings
** Problems in obtaining new family cards and obtaining endorsement in family cards for change of residence and other types changes as per requirement of cardholder
** Poor service in Offices of Assistant Commissioners / Taluk Supply Officers in regard to family cards and other services

Problems faced by Consumers:
** Exploitation of rights of consumers as envisaged in Consumer Protection Act, 1986
** Defects in product purchased or Deficiency in services availed by consumer
** Refusal by Seller / supplier to repair the product which is in warranty / guarantee
** Supply of expired / sub standard / adulterated food products or medicines by unethical traders
** Collection of excess price for the product or service than the price prescribed
** Any other unfair trader practices like multi level marketing,. etc.
** Problems faced by Agriculturists by sub standard seeds, fertilizers, or pesticides, etc.

1. I have applied for spelling correction of my wife name in the ration card they have given token on 30/6/2015 with number 5910 and date to collect the ration card with correction on 5/6/2016 but still, now they have not given the corrected ration card. Every day, they said to come tomorrow the higher authority has not signed. I am on this issue for more than 13 days advise me what to do next.

  1. In July-2012, I transferred my family card from katpadi TSO office to Musiri TSO office in Trichy district. At that time Musiri TSO registered my family card without asking online transfer my card number from katpadi TSO to Musiri TSO office.
    But in october-2016 I transferred from Musiri to Udumalpet and also got transfer certificate of my family card from Musiri TSO to Udumalpet TSO.
    Here udumalpet TSO asking online transfer of my family card number from Musiri TSO to Udumalpet TSO office. Without online transfer of my family card number to Udumalpet TSO office, Udumalpet TSO is not registering my family card in this office and I can not purchase any things from ration shop.
    So I request you to take necessary steps to online transfer my family card number from Musiri TSO to Udumalpet TSO office.
    My family card number is 05/G /1056625.
