CRSBIS Compulsory Registration Scheme

Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY) has notified “Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirement for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012” on 3 Oct 2012 for fifteen categories of electronics products. Another 15 product categories were added by DeitY under this order on 13 Nov 2014.

Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is operating Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) for Electronics & IT Goods as per the provision of Chapter IVA of THE BUREAU OF INDIAN STANDARDS RULES, 1987 for the product categories notified by DeitY.

Instruction On CRS Scheme

Before applying online :
** Check if your product falls under the list of 30 product categories covered under CRS.
** Submit product for testing to BIS recognized lab as per DeitY’s series guidelines. Refer Handbook of information and revised FAQ issued by DeitY before submitting your product for testing.

** At the time of online submission, test report should not be more than 90 days old.
** Compliance of the product to the requirement of the relevant Indian Standard mentioned in the test report has to be ensured by the applicant.

** All foreign applicants having no liaison office or branch office located in India have to appoint Authorized Indian Representative(AIR) as per the guidelines issued by BIS in the prescribed nomination form.

** Authorized Indian Representatives of applicants located outside India have to submit an affidavit cum undertaking as per Format A/ Format B as mentioned in the Guidelines.
** All applicants located in India have to submit an affidavit cum undertaking as per Format C as mentioned in the Guidelines.

** Refer the checklist of documents to be submitted along with the application form.
** Refer some of the commonly observed shortcomings oberserved by BIS during scrutiny of application.

** Sign in using your User Id and password. If you are not an existing user, click here to obtain User ID and password for applying for product registration.

CRS Login Details

** Every applicant needs to register.
** Please ensure that you have gone through the “Registration Guidelines”
** Password should contain Uppercase letters,Lowercase letters,Numbers and Special characters.
** If already registered, Click here to return to home page.
** Mandatory Fields

** Fill up online Form VI. (Read instruction very carefully. Applicants are requested to fill up the form with due diligence.)
** Make payment.
** Click on ?Submit? to submit the form online.
** You will receive an auto-generated mail with application number. Kindly quote this application number for further correspondence.
** Submit hard copy of application along with original test report along with affidavit-cum-undertaking as per Format A/Format B or Format C latest within 15 days of applying online.

** Scrutiny of the application will start after the receipt of hard copy on First Come First Serve basis.
** Only ink signed hard copies will be accepted. Scanned/stamped signatures will not be accepted.
