Khoya-Paya Citizen’s Corner of Track Child

1. Who can register with the Khoya-Paya portal ?:
Any citizen of India can register with the Khoya-Paya Portal.
2. I do not have a mobile phone. How can I register with the portal?:
You cannot register with the portal without a mobile phone.
3. Can I register with a login and password ?:
You cannot register with login and password. You need a mobile phone.
4. I have entered my mobile number but the OTP didn’t come:
The network may be busy. Please wait or try after some time.
5. I have reported a case in the portal. But it is not appearing in the search list:
The cases reported in the portal would be made public only after preliminary scrutiny.
6. I have reported a case in the portal. Can I add some more information about that case later?:
Yes, Please go to ‘My Account’ section of the portal and press ‘Edit’ button against the case to be modified.
7. Can I close a case which I have reported earlier?:
Yes, Please go to ‘My Account’ section of the portal and press ‘Closure’ button against the case to be closed.
8. I have reported a case of missing child in the Khoya-Paya portal. Should I inform the Police also?:
Yes, It is mandatory to register FIR with the Police in case of missing child.
9. During registration I have received a password through SMS. How can I login using this password ?:
The password given during registration is for loging-in in the mobile app. For loging-in in the portal one has to use the one time password (OTP) being sent in the mobile.
Steps to be followed by the Parents/Citizen in case a child is missing:
** Dial 100 for police or 1098 for CHILDLINE.
** Go to the Police station and register an FIR.
** Upload the information of the child on the Khoya-Paya and other similar portals.
** Think about what your child was wearing when you last saw him/her. Was he/she carrying with him/her, a mobile phone, money, bank cards, any items of sentimental value such as toy etc.?
** Notify all local media assignment desks.
** Make a list of / talk to friends, acquaintances, and anyone else who might have information or clues about your child.
** If you know where your child is and you are still concerned for their safety (e.g. if they are at a house where you suspect criminal activities are taking place) you can ask the police to carry out a welfare check on that house or location.
** Parents should immediately inform the Station Master or officer concerned at nearby railway station as usually trafficking or migration of children mostly takes place through railway route.
** Rapidly create and disseminate posters to help generate leads.
What a parents should do when a child returns home:
** Contact the police. Let them know that your child has returned.
** Inform CHILDLINE 1098 incase you had asked them for help.
** Express to your child that you are happy to have him/her back home.
** Allow him/her time to settle in.
** Get medical treatment if required.
** Talk with your child.
** Get assistance and support.
