Tamil Nadu Government attaches utmost importance to the redressal of the grievances of consumers. Residents can make a call, register through web or send email seeking redressal of grievances. Line : A State Level Tollfree PDS Helpline is functional under short code 1967 and 1800-425-5901.

Residents of Tamil Nadu can contact the said numbers for any queries / complaints / suggestions. Besides this public portal www.tnpds.com has provisions for registering complaints on line. This has enabled to synchronise the complaint redressal mechanism as a single window system in this State and the consumers and cardholders now find it easy to register their complaints / grievances.

How To Register TNPDS Complaint?
We have sent complaint number to registered mobile number and Email while registering a complaint. You can enter your complaints, and the pds support team will contact you soon
Steps:
** Complaint can be registered within 2 years from the date on which the cause of action has arisen.
** Stamp paper is not required for declaration
** Complaint can be registered, in person, by the complainant or through his authorized agent or by post addressed to the Redressal Agency.
** Lawyers are not necessary.
When the complaints can be made?:
A complaint may be made in writing under the following circumstances:
** Loss or damage is caused to the consumer due to unfair trade practice of a trader.
** If the article purchased by a consumer is defective.
** If the services availed of by a consumer suffer from any deficiency.
** When the price paid by a consumer is in excess of the price displayed on the goods or when the price is in excess of the price fixed under any law in force.
** Goods, which will be hazardous to life and safety, when used are being offered for sale to the public in contravention of the provisions of any law.
Who can make complaint?:
** A consumer as defined under Consumer Protection Act, 1986
** A registered Voluntary Consumer Association
** Central Government
** State Government / Union Territory
** One or more consumers representing numerous consumers having the same interest.
Where complaints can be registered?
District Consumer Protection Council :
Action will be initiated legally through the Department concerned on the petitions regarding the defects filed before this Council which function under the chairmanship of the District Collector
Price of the commodity or value of the services and value of compensation claimed :
i. District Consumer Forum – For a claim of Compensation up to Rs.20lakhs
ii. State Commission – For a claim of Compensation above Rs.20lakhs and up to Rs.1crore
iii. National Commission – For a claim of Compensation above Rs.1crore
What are the particulars that should be furnished along with the complaint?
The complaint should contain the following particulars :
** The name and complete address of the complainant
** The name and complete address of the opposite party/parties
** Date of purchase goods or services availed
** Amount paid for the above purpose
** Particulars of goods purchases with numbers or details of services availed
** The details of complaint, whether it is against Unfair Trade Practice / supply of defective goods / deficiency in service provided / collection of excess price, should explicitly be mentioned in the complaint petition.
** Bills / receipts and copies of connected correspondence, if any
** The relief sought for under this Act.

sir i have been applied new rationcard on 11.01.2024, But till now the ration card status not changed pls look in to this matter
I have applied for new ration card, card approved and it is in inactive status. Ration card no: 97A3673554. The status is inactive for more than 9 months. I am getting no proper response from Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Zonal office .Shenoy nagar
i applied new ration card on 27.07.23, 3 months over till no verification
Even though I have applied for Police family card many times
Family card has not been issued yet.
Finally at the time of document verification all the documents were correct but I was away on duty and my wife was in hospital then the field staff rejected my family card application without informing me without witness statement or village assistant’s statement during location inspection.

I have applied for new ration card application number 02210723286865. The status is pending for Field Verification more than 3 months. I am getting no proper response from Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Zonal office Thiruvotriyur.
Please note Guduvancheri Shop No.2 located at GST Road salesman not accepting to issue commodity for smart card from other shops. Kindly advice him “One Nation One Card implementation” and issue commodity for cards from other shops.
