The third option is however available only to a few selected mobile numbers.
To avail this service, download the application form and drop the application in National Informatics Center, Secretariat Hill, Shillong, Meghalaya -793001.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS :
** Users are requested to keep the given Login id and password a secret.
** Please change your password at least once in every three months.
** By not doing so (point no. 1 & 2 above) the account may be compromised by hackers and the hacker can use the same account for getting vehicle information.
** NIC is neither responsible nor accountable for this type of misuse of the compromised user accounts.
** Gross misuse might be detected by automated monitoring tools, which in turn will automatically deactivate the account.
** Users are requested, if possible, to install the personal firewall software to secure their machine.
** Users are requested to install the Antivirus software with latest pattern update periodically and OS patches in their system.
** NlC will take all possible measures to prevent data loss, however, due to unforeseen technical issues, if the same happens, NlC cannot be held responsible.
** Applicant shall maintain the security and integrity of inforrnation received.
** NIC is neither responsible nor accountable for this type of misuse of the compromised user accounts.

** Applicant shall maintain a current list of persons and entities authorized to access the information or to whom such information may be disclosed.
** This list shall be available to the Department/NIC upon request.
** Applicant shall not use, sell retain, distribute, provide, or transfer any restricted information or portion of such information accessed except as authorized by the Department/NIC.
** The Department on behalf of MoRTH reserves the right to audit Applicant‘s compliance with set rules/acts.
** The applicant understands and agrees that Department/NlC shall not be liable for any damages arising out of or in any way connected with applicant’s access or use of information
About Us :
The Transport Department deals with the subject matter relating primarily to Road Transport. The Department administers the Motor Vehicles Taxation Act and Rules made there under.
The Department also controls, supervises and regulates the working and functioning of the various bodies under the Department. These bodies are the State Transport Authority and the Regional Transport Authorities.
