e-Pest :
The e-pest Surveillance and pest management programme is a major component of IPM and has been adopted in the State Agricultural Policy 2013. Every year major crops like paddy, pulse and ground nut crops face a number of disease and pests problems and farmers lose major part of their production.

It is essential to have a pest monitoring system in the state which will check the spread of disease pest and the crop loss also.

This programme helps to check the pest problem but also guides to find out pest endemic pockets by generating pest maps. Besides, the programme creates mass awareness among the farmers on pest management.

This year the project will be implemented in all 30 districts to render pest surveillance and monitoring in both the season covering paddy and non paddy crops with the help of Farmer Friends, VAWs & AAOs

Objective :
** To do surveillance in pest prone as well as in large demonstration areas including the other crop field. –

** To monitor the major pests like Swarming caterpillar,BPH, YSB, Blast , BLB of Paddy and YMV, Cutworm in pulses and collar rot, infestation of Spodoptera in Groundnut by providing traps and lures

** To counter the urgent pest attack by proving critical inputs
** To train the base level workers (VAW) and Farmer friends
** To build up season specific pest maps on endemic areas

Project Period :
** July —November 2016 for Kharif
** December 2016- April 2017 for Rabi

About Us :
Government of India has decided to launch a Central Sector Scheme titled, ‘Strengthening / Promoting Agricultural Informatics & Communications’ of which one component is AGRISNET. The objective of AGRISNET is to provide improved services to the farming community through use of ICT.

Implementation Strategy :
The AGRISNET Project will be implemented in a projectised mode, i.e., funds under AGRISNET will be provided to the State/ UT governments or to autonomous bodies identified by the State/Union Territory Governments on the basis of specific project proposals submitted for the prupose.

Agrisnet services and it’s goal :
1. Providing information to farmers on inputs so that they get alerted on quantity on the input and its supply chain.
2. Providing information of Govt. schemes implemented in the state.

3. Providing recommendations based on soil test results and reduce indiscriminate use of fertilizers soil health.
4. Updates farmers on latest technology in Agriculture sector for improved productivity and quality farmers.
