RMSA :
Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan” is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme is being implemented from the academic year 2009-10 to 2019-20 with a sharing pattern of 75:25 (Central/State) during 11th and 12th Five Year Plan period and the same was revised to 60:40 (Central/State) sharing pattern for the year 2015-2016 onwards.
The RMSA Scheme is implemented through Society, i.e. “ TELANGANA MODEL SCHOOLS SECONDARY EDUCAITON SOCIETY” 6-1-88 Saifabad, Hyderabad, Telangana with Registration No.455/2014 dated: 05-06-2014.
Under this Society the following schemes are being implemented in the State as on date :
** Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA)
** Establishment of Girls Hostels in Educationally Backward Blocks (EBBs)
** ICT@ Schools
** IEDSS
** Vocational Education
Objectives Of The Scheme :
The objective of the scheme is to provide a secondary school within a reasonable distance of any habitation, which should be 5 kilometer for secondary schools and 7 -10 kilometers for higher secondary schools to cater the students of class 6th to 12th and to ensure universal access of secondary education by 2017 (GER of 100%), and Universal retention by 2020 and also providing access to secondary education with special references to economically weaker sections of the society, the educationally backward, the girls and the disabled children residing in rural areas and other marginalized categories like SC, ST, OBC and Educationally Backward Minorities (EBM).
Salient Features Of The Scheme :
** The gender disparities still persist in rural areas, particularly among the disadvantaged communities like SCs, STs, OBCs and Minorities.
** Significant gaps in enrolment of girls at the elementary and secondary levels as compared to boys are visible.
** The scheme envisages setting up of hostel facilities in the Educationally Backward Blocks (EBBs) and areas nearing concentration of above target groups
** To make Secondary and Senior Secondary education accessible to a larger number girl student.
About Us :
The School Education Department is the largest department consisting of Primary and Secondary stages, assumes grater significance and aims at imparting minimum and essential general education to all the children in the age group of 6-15 years and to equip them with necessary competencies to shape them as useful and productive citizens.
Andhra Pradesh has adopted the national pattern of education i.e. 10+2+3. Out of 10 years of schooling, the first 5 years i.e. Classes I to V constitute the Primary stage, the next two years i.e., Class VI & VII the Upper Primary stage and the remaining 3 years i.e., Classes VIII to X, the Secondary stage.
Concerted efforts are made in all the schools in the State with a well-knitted field functionaries monitoring system to take the Education to the nearest place of residence of the school going aged children, even in remote, tribal and hillock areas.
Andhra Pradesh has attained 100% access by providing at-least One Primary School with in the reach of one kilo meter. Today any child in any part of Andhra Pradesh can access a school with in one kilometer radius
