Kerala MVD Driving License Renewal

If the application is late for more than five years after the date of expiry of the license, the applicant should undergo all the formalities to obtain a fresh license.

If the application for renewal is made previous to, or not more than 30 days after the date of expiry of the license, the renewal will be made with effect from the date of its expiry. If the application is made more than 30 days after the date of expiry of the license, the renewal will be made with effect from the date of receipt of proper application. In such cases a fee of Rs. 250/- + Rs.50/-will be realised.

Documents Required For Kerala MVD Driving License

Following documents are required for Kerala MVD Driving License

** Driving License.
** Application Form No.9.
(a) Form No.1 (Self declaration as to the physical fitness for Non-Transport Vehicles) or
(b) Form No. 1A : If you are 50years or more and applying for non-transport driving license, or you are applying for a transport vehicle driving license, you should obtain a certificate from a general medical practitioner about your physical condition Form1A.
(c) Eye certificate
** Recent pass port size photographs – 2 Nos.
** Receipt for payment of fees of Rs. 250/- + Rs.50/- service charge.

How To Apply For Kerala MVD Driving License?

Follow the below steps to apply for Kerala MVD Driving License

** Select the Office Name for which the application is to be filed
** Enter the Licence Number in the given boxes correctly
** Select the date of birth or enter in the format ‘dd/mm/yyyy’
** Click on the ‘GO’ Button

** Conformation Screen will be displayed,click on OK button.
** Your License details will be displayed

** If any serious mistakes other than spelling mistakes is found or your Licence details is not displayed you should contact the concerned RT/Sub RT Office immediately for correction.
** Click Next Button
** Fill up additional requirements if any asked by the computer and click apply
** You will get an application Number and can take printout of full set of applications
** Submit the printed forms with fee/epay receipt at concerned RT/Sub RT Office along with Driving License in orginal and with attested copies for proving Address and Date Of Birth.

Points to be noted for Temporary Vehicle Registration :
1. There are 3 steps in vehicle registration – Entry, Edit, and Confirm.
2. Before confirming the vehicle details, it is the responsibility of the dealer to make sure that all details are entered correctly.

Cancellation/editing of online data sheet due to mistaken entry by the dealer will not be entertained. Ensure that Temporary Registration Office and Permanent Registration Office are selected correctly.

3. If the vehicle has hypothecation, the name and complete address of the financier must be entered.
4. All the documents shall be uploaded in .jpg format as per the instructions displayed.

5. Before remitting online payment for Temp. Regn., fees or tax for Permanent Regn. must be remitted through online. For vehicles having tax exemption only permanent registration fees need to be remitted and for vehicles to be registered in other State only fee for temporary registration need to be remitted.

6. Ensure that the correct mobile number and e-mail address of the owner of the vehicle is entered.

1. I am having Motor cycle and Light Motor vehicle license. Light motor license was added later. I have renewed my license and it is valid till 2026. But now, when I try to apply for correction of address online, the license shows only motor cycle (no LMV) and expired date.But the same when I try through the “License Details”link license shows 3 entries where the 3rd entry shows the latest update. ie renewed and both motor cycle and LMV. How can I correct this inconsistency in data and also correct my address?
