** Description of the Weapons Fees, for fresh / Renewal Application
** On verification by Local Police, and satisfied that the Applicant is not haring adverse, and production of necessary rent receipt, Corporation records etc, should apply in the prescribed form after paying a fee of Rs. 1,000/-

Tamil Nadu Police Benevolent Fund
This scheme was introduced in the year 1957 with the objective of providing monetary and other relief to the Non-gazetted Staff and their Family Members. This fund is being generated by way of collecting subscriptions from the Police Personnel as well as from the Ministerial Staff of the Police Department and also by way of donations from the Officers of the Police Department.
(a) The family relief provided from the Fund is as follows :-
Rs.15000/- : In case of death of the subscriber
Rs.5000/- : In case of death of family members of the subscriber
(b) Scholarships are provided to the children of the Employees of Police Department who pursue higher studies in the Colleges and Polytechnics (i.e.) from Rs.3,500/- to Rs.10,000/-
(c)A special medical relief scheme of providing financial assitance to the subscribers of TNPBF up to 4 Lakhs as a one time measure for his entire servise period and maximum amount of 1 Crore per year has been allotted from TNPBF towards the treatment of life threatening diseases.
(d)Medical relief of Rs.5,000 has been granted to subscribers and family members for three times only during the entire service.

Whether I have to sign the FIR for a crime case to be registered ?
Based on written complaint, police will register an FIR. You have to sign both in your complaint as well as in the FIR in the place of signature of informant.
If your information is reduced into writing by a police officer, then, complainant have to sign the same after going through/hearing the contents.The signature in the FIR is acknowledgement for getting a copy of the FIR.
Whether other than FIR, I have to put signature in a statement recorded by the police during investigation of the case ?
Police will not demand your signature in your statement if recorded by police in case of investigation emanated from an FIR.
Whether I will get a copy of the FIR, registered on my complaint free of cost ?
Yes. It is a mandate for the police to give a copy of FIR to the informant only at free of cost, not otherwise. If it is not given, it is a deviation to the procedure established by law.
Whether a police officer can search a person / place without a search warrant ?
Yes, Police officer is empowered to search a person without order from a magistrate or without a warrant with advance intimation to the jurisdictional courts. Whereas to search a place, advance intimation to the jurisdiction court is sufficient.
Can I report a crime online ?
