The HimBhoomi software is an end result of lots of efforts of both revenue department and National Informatics Centre, Himachal Pradesh.

The system of land records maintenance in India is very complicated which makes the software design and development as complicated. However, due sustained efforts the software has been developed and caters to the requirements of the revenue department to a great extent.

Registration :
The objective and purpose of the Registration Act is to provide a method to public, registration of documents so as to give information to people regarding legal rights and obligations attaching or affecting a particulars property and to perpetuate documents which may afterwards be of importance and also to prevent fraud.

The Act, unlike the Transfer of Property Act, strikes only at documents and not transactions; it enacts that where document is employed to effectuate any of the transactions specified in Section-17 of the Registration Act, such document must be registered.

The documents which are compulsorily register-able have been enumerated in Section 17 of the Registration Act and as such Section- 18 of said Act enumerates documents which is optional for registration.
